Opioids Poppy Pod Tea - First Time Dosage?

Hi Guys, I'm interested in trying poppy pod tea this weekend, but even after a fair amount of googling I'm struggling to gauge a decent first time dose for a relatively opiate naive person and could do with a little advice. I guess my tolerance is pretty minimal - I take about 5 grams of kratom once or twice a week for mild effects and besides smoking small amounts of opium several years back, that's about it as far as my experience with opioids go.

I've already crushed/ground up about half my pods (dried giganteums) into a semi-powdered state (my blender's kinda' crappy so what I've got is a mixture of fine powder and larger bits) and I'll complete the rest tonight. Once they're all crushed up and mixed together, I'm thinking of making a brew with 10g, but only drinking half of it at first, and then If need be I can re-dose after 2 hours or so. I would have just worked out the average weight of a single pod and used the equivalent of 5 or 6 of them for the brew, but these giganteums are pretty huge compared to normal ones (some aren't far off the size of a tennis ball) which makes it hard to judge.

So in short, does a dose of 5g, possibly topped up after a couple of hours, sound sensible enough for a first time? or am I even being overly cautious?

On another note, I now have many, many poppy seeds and it'd be a crying shame to waste them. Does anyone know if you have to do anything special to plant them or do so at a certain time of year, or is it just a matter of scattering the seeds somewhere and hoping some pop up next summer? There's loads of parks around near me and my 'rents live out in the sticks where there would be plenty of good spots for a little guerrilla gardening :) Heck, there's several unkempt gardens my way which have more or less gone to seed, I doubt most of the owners would even notice the appearance and subsequent disappearance of a small patch of poppies... though I guess pods the size of tennis balls could be a wee bit conspicuous.
 
I also wondered this when I dabbled in opiates. The answer: there is no answer. Pods vary so much in strength that it is impossible to safely answer your question.

I had relatively weak pods and I started with making tea out of 10gs and drinking 1/4, waiting 90 min, drinking another 1/4 of the glass, etc. Pods never really did anything for me except make me feel "heavy" and agitate my stomach.

Re the seeds: I threw them in the community garden and now there are a ton of poppies growing there :D
 
yeah, that seems to be the gist of it from what I've read. I went ahead and made a 10g brew today. I drank 1/2 of it about 4 hours ago, then slowly drank about 2/3 of what was remaining after 90 mins and left it at that. Got a mild but pleasant buzz going on now, though there was a little anxiety while coming up. I think the anxiety was largely down to smoking weed though. The poppies definately potentiate/synergize with it somewhat and I guess they potentiate the weeds anxiogenic effects too (strange though, 'cos I don't get that with kratom at all, if anything that reduces anxiety).

I remember back when I was a teenager, some poppies just turned up in our garden one summer, probably washed over from our neighbours garden by rainwater, and they were kind of invasive so I guess it can't be hard.
 
Start with a small dose.
If necessary, slowly up the dose over the course of a day/night.

Wait a few hours (can take up to 3hr to come on fully, and can be subtle if you're not acquainted with poppy) before deciding to redose.
Taking too much causes a long, drawn out and incredibly unpleasant sickness.
 
Yeah from what I've read poppy ODs sound pretty rough and I prefer to learn these things the easy way.

Yesterdays experiment went pretty well. I think the dose (~8g on a fairly empty stomach) turned out to be about right for a first time. I didn't get much of a noticable head high or euphoria except after a bowl or two but did get a bit of a physical buzz and it was certainly doing its job as an analgesic. Though saying that, it did actually get pretty euphoric once I got into bed - it just felt so nice laying down and being wrapped up in blankets. I feel really well rested this morning too.
 
I don't use poppy any more, but can certainly vouch for the best set and setting to be bed!
Half sleep state punctuated by euphoria and lucid dreams.
Don't get too much of a taste for it...like all opiates pods are damn addictive.
 
Yeah, I'm all too familiar with their addictive potential. My dad was using them for a few years, and he's still on subutex now. So yeah, I'm not going to be doing them often at all, once a fortnight tops but I'll try to keep it more like once a month, if that. I'm happy enough with kratom anyway. It's nothing compared to opium, but it's nice enough and most importantly, I know my limits with it and can use fairly often with little increase in tollerance and no withdrawl.
