Opioids Poppy identification

Hey BL,

Came across some poppy flowers today which seem like they might be the real deal. Around 4-5 feet tall, jagged leaves, hundreds of small petals make up the flower, hairless stem, and globule pods. I opened a pod and it had all white seeds, but I'm hoping as the pods mature they'll turn black.

Unfortunately image upload keeps failing, I'll try and get one up soon. In the meantime, does this sound like papaver somniferum?

there is many poppy plants that look like that and BL doesn't do drug identification

Flower identification isn't exactly drug identification

there are no opium poppies with that kind of flower

That looks like an ornamental P. somniferum cultivar
