Pop Culture in High School

Following examples set by others,
Sleeping in sheets and under covers.
Prowling the night with great disgruntle,
Everything I say is there rebuttal.
So untouchable yet can be touched,
Their little group isn't all that much.
Prouding themselves in other peoples pain,
It wont be fun when I join their little game.
Sitting around me in my classes,
Talking loud and acting like asses.
Too cool to stop and to proud to admit,
One day i'll be their boss and make them quit.
Good thing i have my own set of friends,
With voices like angels and caring unend.
They might not be the popular crowd,
But to me their the what makes me happy and proud.

very good....I am so glad that once you are out of high school that nonsense stops. I was never popualr nor unpopular. I was one of those kids that floated between everyone and I was happy that way. I really like your poem, it describes high school popularity so well!

i completely understand where you're coming from (and how glad i am that high school is over!!!)... high school... everyone is stuck on the whole idea of popularity and what not... though its shit.. people go around and put others down, and live their lives based on what others think of them or think they sould be doing... i HATE shit like that... i'll admit that i used to want to be popular, then for a time i did run with that popular crowd in my high school, but i soon realized that it was just fake as shit - everyone was talking behind everyone else's backs and trying to 'out-do' others - friends were not friends, but competition... and i was glad that i gathered up my confidence and left that shitty group of people. i found that it doesnt matter who you run with as long as you're happy. being true to yourself is all that should ever matter, cause when you live your life to please others you begin to feel like crap cause you lose touch with yourself, and you eventually lose yourself along the way.
