Don't beat yourself up over what someone on the internet says; they don't even know you for a start, plus is that really how you wanna be remembered?

You're right though, flaming, harassing and insulting other users is completely unacceptable. I don't care if they started it or provoked you or whatever... the right thing to do is to report their post or PM a moderator about it.

On top of that, I would say that showing that what people say to you has affected you is just fuel for them. It encourages them to keep going, because giving them a reaction is just what they wanted.

So technically, the flaming problem is both the flamers and flamee's faults, but that's not the right way to look at it. It's normal to be affected by what someone says about you, but only to a certain extent.

I just said a whole lot more than needed, but basically what I wanted to say is, if someone flames you, do as Mr. B suggested, and ignore them. You become part of the problem when you react by repeating what they did to you.

Well after acting poorly earlier today. I've decided to go on a permanent hiatus from BL. I hope that the OD forum turns out well in the future. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to step down. Read my latest journal article for further info.

I mostly stay in the pschedelic drugs forum , but OD is definetly one of my favorites . You guys are doing a great job and im sure you'll continue to do so in the future . So I said i have a positive outlook.

I think the point has been made, and the poster who wanted this thread to made in the first place stopped paying attention a long time ago. We have established what should have been obvious from the start: you can't please everyone. We (the staff) do the best we can to make sure this forum is ran in a way everyone can appreciate and find helpful, but there will always be people who aren't happy with the way things go. I think this thread alone has made it very clear that we aren't the "nazi mods" some think we are, and that we are willing to listen to what the public has to say and change things if necessary.

So, on behalf of the rest of the OD Staff, thank you for your participation and feedback. It has been very helpful.
