Opioids Poll:Narcan

I appreciate the concern about my well being and the risks associated with my actions, i may figure out a different way such as volunteering at a local legal needle ext. if there is one. I usually just help people without thinking of risks to myself due to my nature, thanks again. I have time to do a paramedic job on the side by studying while at the station, and being a paramedic in the field has given me an advantage to make med school easier. I make decisions every time I work that attending doctors should make in terms of clinical care, you see some fucked up shit out in the field. I suggest you ride with your local EMS if you're in medical school to see/handle some of the critical stuff. Be safe out there.

Yeah often the naloxone will wear off and if someone requires it, they're going to need more than just the one shot of it.

It would pay off to have many ampules of naloxone if you were to ever overdose.

Yeah. It's personally happened to me before, where the paramedics hit me with it in my apartment, but once at the hospital, they had to do it again because I fell back out. I've also had to give my ex-girlfriend two doses before after the same thing happened. Luckily, I knew this was a possibility so I was prepared... however, a lot of addicts think that one shot of narcan is all one needs and then their done, life saved. So, they leave somebody thinking they are fine.. only to have them fall back unconscious when they aren't around after the dose wares off and potentially die. It's important addicts know to look out for this, especially for friends with large habits.
