^ haha So did I. But by the time I got to 37 I was thinking, 'holy fuck I can't believe I was guilted into doing this properly.' ;)

I also hung around while my boyfriend handed out flyers for the Greens. As people walked up to us we'd guess which pamphlets they'd take eg 'Suit man is definitely Liberal. Guy with the akubra... crazy greenie.' etc We were nearly always right too. Ahhh stereotypes.

I think a lot of older people will still vote for Howard, they hold the majority of the votes aswell I'd take a guess at....

shame on diego for getting drunk and voting liberal :p

So this guy I went to school with is running for Labor. He's my age - i.e. 19-20. I was going to vote for Labor anyway, just so happens I know the guy. :\

Of course we all know how this is going to turn out so I'm not even going to bother whinging.

the people who vote for howard will never admit it, because they know they are scum for doing it..... its like what used to happen in victoria, u could never find ONE person who voted for big jeff, yet he kept getting back in

The official results won't be known for days. But if you tune into ABC or channel 9 you get constant coverage of the count. The victor is usually called by about 9pm.

I voted for Howard (well, I voted for Andrew Robb, the Goldstein Liberal candidate). So clearly I have no problem "admitting" it (as if it's some kind of sordid deviance), as I've clearly stated in this thread already.

The 4 other people of voting age in my immediate family also voted for Andrew Robb, and "admitted" it freely.

Strange comment, really!

^ You're a pretty opinionated person though, anna! This board is obviously rather anti Howard so it would take guts to say 'ohhh I love little Johnny. He's such a champ.'

Yeah looks like Howards in again anyway. Excellent.

Oh yeah, definitely - all these Labor supporters are pretty overbearing ;) I thought eze meant the general population would have trouble admitting it, and I was confused about why that would be.

----

I personally would never vote for anyone if I wasn't confident enough about them to admit that I did so! And I would never vote for someone and then go away thinking I was "scum" for doing so, why would I do it in the first place? I don't really understand why anyone would think that someone would vote for someone if they would feel like it made them a bad person :\ Please feel free to clarify, eze!

edit: my grammar was awful

I am against war
I am against using fear as a political tool
I am against the treatment of refugees - who are treated worse than stray dogs.

I am against John Howard - but this spineless wimp who will not commit to a full term, harrasses me with pre-recorded messages at my home and has made being Australian dangerous...

...is now regarded as my leader.

Howard, I am not impressed.
