Police use 'nose telescope' for cannabis odour mapping

Utter foolishness! There are so many more pollutants befouling the air that we should be worried about. Cannabis smoke is nothing if it's not concentrated enough to produce a contact high. The guy using that device reminds of people who go, "hey you smell that? (sniff sniff)," "yeah, that really stinks! (sniff sniff sniff)." And I agree with an earlier comment: if an offending odor cannot be detected without a "nose telescope," then why is it a problem? Especially when it's no more a carcinogen than any other burnt plant matter? Insanity!

Those photos pretty much sum up where we are at in the west. Those in control certainly can't see the forest for the trees, but at least now they can smell the trees.

Do cops expect that walking around like that is going to stop people calling them pigs?
 
This is amusing. We need a civil uprising....violent as possible to show how out of touch our local and federal governments are.

The telescope should have a sign with an arrow pointing at its operator that says "douchebag" on it. This is just another way to suck dollars out of peoples pockets. What about smelling burglaries? Next they are going to make a device that can taste underage people drinking...
 
As the founding fathers would have intended the police are using technology to make sure our homes don't have any offending odours. Paper mills, dumps, and factories are ok. We just don't want to smell any grass. Feel free to smell up the country as long as its a legal odor.

Well Wasabi deodorant is already a thing, is it really your fault that they're using some stupid smell enhancer? They can bleat and claim it was deliberate all they want, it'll never stick.
 
You can't prove smell in court so they make a tool to prove smell. Just a never ending and evolving police state. Sad.

Never mind the refineries and factories that make the air brown and poison all over the entire city, their just worried about a few people smoking pot.
 
The police probably invented it to sniff out doughnuts, bacon, mcdonalds, and other things they are known to love. Also, I wonder if it picks up methane gas from the anus' of humans. I would hope so.
