The Crime and Misconduct Commission is investigating complaints that a number of Queensland police officers have been caught selling drugs.

It is claimed two female officers, stationed at Beenleigh and Calamvale, are involved in the matter.

It is unknown what type of drugs were allegedly being sold, and what rank the officers are.

A police spokesperson says no one has been stood down over the issue.

Queensland's Deputy Police Commissioner, Ian Stewart, would not confirm where the officers are stationed and how many are involved.

"I certainly know which stations it is and at this stage in the investigation, it's not appropriate for me to comment," he said.

I know this gives VERY little info at the moment, but I figure theres a decent chance this will be updated. I'm very anti corrupt cops, so I hope they cop the full wrath of the law.

Well Ive heard in Nz Here in Auckland they take your drugs n money and tell you to get back home, but what do they do with them then I wonder?

Remember their name and badge number and report them.

Who wants to call up and say 'yeah some police stole my illegal drugs?'

Firstly, you're just going to get yourself into more shit by admitting to drug use, and secondly, unless you have hard evidence the court is always going to side with the cops.

Just be glad they took off with your stash instead of charging you, either way you lose your shit, but at least you don't end up with a criminal charge on top of it.

The guy said "money" as well

While I'm sure it happens he did say "I heard" which doesn't sound very concrete to me kinda reminds me of Chinese whispers. Still personally if I was a dealer and it happened to me I would let it go as its better then getting arrested with a police record.

I have heard of it happening too. Police busting choofers whilst growing up only to steal their mix bowl and give them a talking too but no official notification.

If a Police officer stole money from me it would be the only time I would ever go to the Police to get a problem resolved. It might stop the same thing happening to someone else.

That's still better than getting busted, hell, however much money they took is probably less than you'd lose in a legal defense, and it seems like a fair trade for avoiding a record/possible jail time.

Sounds like the cops there are getting to be like the cops in the USA! their are many cops all over the US that seize drugs and turn in only a fraction of them and sell the rest on the streets..or cops that deal kilos and kinda run the "dope game " in some places..thats been a common thin in some cities for 30-40 years here in the US...and it will always be I imagine..trying to turn they crooked cops in if you are a citizen will normally get you killed somehow, looking like an accident or you just go missing...

If the Police are stealing money and not documenting it as the OP says there would not be a legal defense. As soon as the PIC learned about the improprieties the emphasis would be on the corrupt officer as it should be.

It's still the word of a drug dealer against the word of a police officer. Unless there are other reasons that those particular officers would have suspicion already cast upon them, it's pretty obvious who's coming out on top in that one.

Where did "drug dealer" come into this? I am taking about members of the police force stealing money from citizens.

Your second point is exactly the reason to contact the PIC. You can stop someone else from getting fucked over in the future.

We're talking about this post aren't we?

Id say if you told the CMC that some cops stole your drugs they would be very intrested. Id even go to the point where you would be pardoned for testimony when it ends up in court. When they suspect a cop is corrupt they don't exactly go up and ask them

This has been going on for donkeys (y)ears. Back in the 80s when I was into weed, police had taken stuff off us and kept. One raid on my mates father (semi big grower back in the day) the cops let the guy keep 10 'plastic shopping bags' of his dope and the cops took the rest with no charges ever laid. That was just from one anecdotal first hand report that I 100% believe that we had when the police busted me with weed once and subsequent chat about stuff the police have taken off 'us'.

Until such times when EVERYTHING a police officer is monitored or mostly anyway, I can't see this ever going away, oh unless the police suddenly started getting 300% wage increase with less time having to be put in.

I believe so too,
Most honest cops hate corrupt cops, sometimes when this sort of stuff is going on though, their senior officers are also involved. I would always take extreme caution if I was gonna go after some corrupt cops and I'd wanna make sure I either had proof or could obtain it for a pardon.
