Police helicopter fires on suspected drug truck; two killed

Texas game wardens have more power than any other law enforcement entities in the state. They can search private residences without warrants.

Any officer can do anything anywhere. Whether the evidence collected holds up in court is another matter altogether.

They can also be sued for violation of civil rights.

People shouldn't kill animals though, except for food. If these officers stuck to preserving endangered species, they's have my full support.

These brave warriors of the War Against Drugs (TM) should probably get a medal for their heroics; I mean (gasp) Imagine if those drugs had made it to the street; a whole load of people would be able to get high, and have a bloody good time (unthinkable)!

So I say: Armour piercing bullets for our brave pigs! Hell, rocket launchers, even!

In the War on Drugs (TM), we actually are fighting the drugs themselves.
We burn them, shoot them, or otherwise destroy them!
Even if it means a bit of collateral damage to those who were taking profits from the pharm industry...
heck, that is not so bad, pretty good even,
All Hail the War on Drugs!
You didn't write this in gold.. so I fixed it for us as so important a statement must always be distinguished as such .

IMO the war against drugs is being fought against people; their desire to get high, their desire to get rich, their need to feed their addictions, and this in a society where our personal rights are supposedly sacrosanct.....bollocks.I call hypocrisy.

Fighting a war against your own citizens because you have the antiquated belief their behaviour is immoral is no more than a purity crusade; these are as old as the hills, and I thought we are past shit like this in this supposedly enlightened 21st century.

Prohibition doesn't work: people still get high, and organized crime is thriving. The deterrent effect doesn't work: people still get high. "Scare them straight" shock campaigns don't work: you could argue they foster a rebellious desire to taste the forbidden fruit. There is a misconception that "drugs are cool",'after all. And people still get high.

So to me, it's not the War Against Drugs (TM); it's the Anti Freedom Purity Crusade (TM)

(Steps off of soapbox, drinks a glass of vodka, a legal drug that is addictive, dangerous to the body, and causes more deaths than most illegal drugs combined. A toast to hypocrisy: Cheers!)
