honestly, does the words forum just include words? because, personally, i think all of your words fucking suck.


everything in this forum fucking sucks. your "poetry". your what-the-fuck-ever. it's all stupid. it's fucking words people. poetry is words, and it fucking sucks stand-alone.


you want some real shit? written after a 5-day binge? listen to my shit.. it's words plus music. start with "anything you say". apparently that's a favorite. then go to the bottom, the untitled.

Well, I disagree with just about everything you said. First of all, poetry is different from lyrics in that it does not need an accompaniment. It is meant as an appreciation of imagery in words and as a medium in which to communicate feelings, and statements of philosophy, observation, politics etc. It's literary art, in a very aesthetic sort of way.. speaking of which, I guess I should rebut your attack on poetry with an attack on your 'music'. Perhaps you should take a little look around the 'words' forum since your lyrics are clearly lacking any sort of poetic ability. They consist of repetitive nonsense that's been said a million times before, by a millions different people: no depth, no imagination, no talent required. Do I even need to go into your musical abilities? Any person who has held a guitar in their hands could play those 4/4 chord progressions that accompany your 'lyrics', and singing (which cannot, by any stretch of the imagination, be in key with itself, or the rest of your song). If you had posted this in a slightly more respectful manner, I would have been happy to be encouraging and given you some tips in which to improve your chosen art... but since you attacked so many people on this forum (some of whom are exceptionally talented) with unfounded bullshit, I think you should just go back to your 13 friends on myspace.

sloppily strumming ona guitar while singing generic and uncreative lyrics in a pitchy and off time voice does not make you real.

and if you actually took the time to write down your lyrics instead of just incoherently babbling the first thing you say you would realize that poetry and lyrics are the same. clearly your too busy being sick with EVERYONE ELSE's self-involvement. right.

Well Poetry has more free reign, I think, in the way the words are put together, whereas lyrics often tend to sound more like regular dialogue, or at least the catchy phrases tend to sound more "dialogue-y," or at least like monologue.

Poetry can not even have any sort of indicator of 1st person or 3rd person. It can simply use words in a stunning way to paint a detailed picture. It's an interesting aesthetic use of language. Just like painting pictures is a totally pointless activity in terms of practical value compared with regular wall paint. I think the OP just wanted more hits on his myspace.

I am going to ignore the ridiculous attitude of the OP, which is way outsized for the type of stuff he posted on his myspace.
Actually the coolest thing you did was your song that was all freestyle, with the overdubbed guitar solo on top. I kind of liked that.

Your music is terrible. The song on your homepage sounds like a bad karaoke cover of Nirvana. It's pretty weird announcing yourself as some sort of musical genius when you're this shit. I can write better music and I don't even write music. I've seen countless people fail in the music industry who are far more talented than you. Lead singers that can actually sing, bands that can maintain a beat.

Good luck. You're going to need it.
 
i care not a fig for any poetry that i have ever had to listen to .
i am a reader of fiction and non fiction . stories gather my attention .
poetry, rap, lyrics just don't convey a recognizable story line to me.

it would be a stretch to call it 'gay' for me . different strokes but emo i am not .
