Dreary of an afternoon
in winter
A bar on 5th above on the
balcony
With a quiet view of the city street
A beer and my smoke
And where will this year lead
into waterfalls to angels and
church bells
Pedestrians with nothing better
to do than watch the street flow by
beneath their feet
Passing into soft forbidden sanctuary
A strange land for violent times
misleading dreams ever-so-softly and
slightly back into the fires at
the center of the Earth
A sharp pain in my eye
attacking my luck
Bruised and so delicate in
this devil dancing and dashing
into the doorways of
cold and unwelcome bars
It's going to be a good year
I promise!
Just don't you lose faith in me, too...
Falling again but to brighter midnights
on whispering shadow's wings
Thru Hells so tranquil and sickening sublime
No more of myself for that bloody pill princess
No forgiveness and I will die
without ever having said 'goodbye'
knowing how awful goodness felt

Addiction is a tough thing to deal with, and you seem to express your resolve quite well.:)
