This weeks choice is one of anyone who has been here a bit can understand why our choice is one that seems to always moves us with his work and sometimes even makes us rethink our thoughts at times. As a writter he has grown though his work has always been outstanding in general,, this poem is not the exception to the rule.

Love and Doubt 02-05-2004

I like to say "I love you".
It's not always the truth, but I say it anyway.
After all, being loved makes people feel good
And I like to picture the glow in a persons face after I've told them I love them.
I like to make people feel accepted,
Loved.
So I say it a lot,
Though I rarely feel anything that strongly.


I know some people,
Some people I say "I love you" to.
They're very much like me.
They think too much,
(If there is such a thing)
And they doubt things.
Almost all things.
Although they know they would probably be happier if they didn't.


These people
Upon reading these words
May begin to doubt my love.


But I'm not always lying.


Will they ask me?


Ask me for the truth.
I would never lie to the ones I truly love.
 
You are definitely still one of my favorite writers in this forum..

i love all the different ways different people interpret things. i dont think anyone sofar has quite replied in the way i would have... picked up on the things that seem prominent to me. yet others have read things into this that i never meant when i wrote it... its great!
 
Just had to put in my final remarks Ant, your work has always caught my eye from the beginning and continue to do so even after all this time. EXCELLENT!
