Bluelighter
Scattered thoughts
A flock of lambs,
Beneath the shadow of a hawk
Mice dashing for cover
As a light goes on
Tormenting snakes
Chasing their tails
For an eternity of moments
And I wonder
Did you ever leave us
And will you always be here
A footfall's distance
Separating a love of ages
Watermarks on souls
From a tidal wave
That brought us to be
Reflecting through blue
Lakes and skies
I see you
In the rolling hills
A question answered
With an enigma
We, the children
Left abandoned
On the roadside of fate
Picked up, then fostered
To awareness
Of our luck
A language seperate
From the rest of the world
Kept us together
Blessed with imagination
And darkness
Can never hide your light
In another life
I could have been a million
Different men and women
And yet this one is mine
But never mine alone
In beauty do we trust
An ocean
To give birth to life
Deliverance in the fires
Of our own apocalypse
Will some tiny spark
Echo into space forever
Allow us to endure
Beyond the reaches
Of time itself
Come to me now
That gift of ages
Shared with all a world
Four walls cannot contain
And death will not curtail
Celebration in confusion
A blade of grass
Quivers in your wake
A passing from this world
Changed and yet so changeless
This holy act
Of pure indulgence
Recorded in the pages of a book
Yet to be written
Perhaps we'd impact
On some alien shore
A firey comet
Puntuating our arrival
From there
A million years or miles
To the distant sun
Reminding constantly
Of you who loved us
For who we were
For what we are
For why we might have been
