Opioids PM Patient, came across some Soma and Xanax

As for background info, I'm on about 80 mg of Opana ER and 60 mg of Oxycodone daily. I have, by chance, come into a few 2 mg Xanax bars and a couple Soma's (don't know mg). I've already mentioned on these boards that the Xanax knock me out, or did for 3-4 days (taking only .25-.50 mg). Although last night I was up most of the night and ended up taking most of a 2 mg bar. It would seem Mr. Tolerance is starting to hang around on me these days for this drug at least. I have zero experience with Soma and am wondering how these will affect me along with all the other/regular meds I take. For instance, are they super strong? I realize they are muscle relaxers and therefore may not have too much recreational value. However, if anyone with a knowledge of all these drugs and how they may interact, I'd really appreciate some feedback big-time. Thanks ahead of time BL's!!
 
I'll start out by saying that mixing a muscle relaxant with an opiate or a benzo can be very dangerous. Mixing all three can be even worse.

That being said, some people love soma and some find it dull. Vicodin
Valium, and Soma used to be my everyday jam, but i slowly worked my tolerance up to all three. Taken by itself its not euphoric, but mixed with opiates it gets a serious wobble on. Kind of stupifying and sedating, but some people like that.

Certainly don't combine all three if xanax lays you out, and not until you know how the carisoprodol effects you.

Which med are you talking about here?

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not looking at taking the Soma and Xanax at the same time. I'm resolved to the fact that Xanax is for bedtime only. I do have a large tolerance to opiates, since I've been on them for the better part of 30+ years. So those will always be in my system. I guess I'm really wondering if I can take a Soma during the day and not be so whacked it's obvious I've taken something I usually don't. Does that make sense? Thanks again!
 
Gotcha. Was talking about the soma. Take it at night first, its disorienting and will keep you from functioning at full capacity during the day. It's an excellent opiate potentiator, nothing special by itself. Probably won't feel as relaxing as the xanax but might be just as disabling
 
Be careful mixing Soma (carisoprodol) with opiates like the ones you're on for pain (oxymorphone and oxycodone), even though you have a tolerance to the opiates in question. Soma is an old school drug and should be considered closer to the barbiturates than the benzos as far as how "forgiving" it is with regards to dosing. Soma is generally considered to be one of the more recreational muscle relaxers. Treat this stuff with respect, it is more powerful than most other muscle relaxers. Don't mix the Soma with Xanax on top of the other drugs you're taking.
 
Thanks again and I really do appreciate all the info! I wish I knew how many mgs this Soma is cause I don't have a clue. It is a pretty large white tablet but there's nothing on it to say how much it is. I think for tonight I'll go with the regular stuff (Xanax and nightie night). Tomorrow night I think I'll skip the Xanax and try the Soma instead. I'll let you know how it goes. Many Thanks!
 
I've personally only seen Soma come in 350mg doses, although there are apparently a newer version available which are 250mg each. The pill itself may not reveal its dosage amount, but if you do a quick Google of everything imprinted on the tablet, it should give you your answer.

As far as mixing Soma with those pain meds, start low with the Soma and be careful. Like NT said, this is a strong drug, especially when it comes to potentiating opiates. It's even made its way to being discontinued and/or no longer used in many parts of the world. The US also moved it to a controlled substance.

So on your advice this... I did do some looking online. I'm pretty sure it's a generic version and from what I can tell it's 500 mg. Now I'm wondering if I should break the thing in half. Once it gets a little later tonight, I'm going to give it a try. I plan on starting slow and adding to it if needed. I'll check back later tonight.
 
From my experience and virtually everything Ive read online, Soma tolerance builds ULTRA fast. Like day one, a single 350mg pill gives a nice buzz, day 2, 3 of them provide little effect, and day 3, you could eat a whole script of the stuff and not notice. okay, maybe not THAT fast, but I think you're going to be disappointed at best with soma +w/e opiates. You need to see how long that crap (and xanax) stays in your system; a failed drug test with your PM doc would be catastrophically awful with the amount and types of opiates you're on.

Mixing soma + opiates is not good, xanax is way worse. The effects are synergistic and also unpredictable in dosage.
 
Soma's go well with opiates(aka the las vegas cocktail hydrocodone+Soma) used to love taking 40-60mg of hydro with 2-3 Somas...Be careful you are on some stronger opiates than just hydrocodone! Don't mix the benzo and soma together, start off with ONE, and I would take it in the evening when you are done with stuff for the day, not during the day. For some Soma's don't do that much, then they will fuck ya up next time, so get to know it and start slow....
 
Somas are lovely, even by themselves, best muscle relaxer ever. Yeah, don't take too many...three I was cool, four I could not walk, or talk...nasty!
 
I took one Soma last night and I didn't feel a thing. I really think all the other stuff I'm just overpowers it. I think I took it around 9:00 or so but I ended up going to the Xanax a couple hours later to help me sleep. I only have one Soma left and at this point I don't really see much benefit from it at all. I'll probably take it tonight along with all my other meds and who knows, maybe I'll feel something. I'm just guessing my tolerance for all this stuff is just through the roof but we'll see...
