Straight up: I shot up and had NO IDEA what I was doing and now I'm having huge problems! I did absolutely EVERYTHING wrong, I now know after reading through this site and doing a lot of research (that should have been done PRIOR to my using!) I was shooting Roxie's this past week. I kept missing my veins, but I was determined, so I just kept poking and poking. There was one vein that I used to be able to hit, so I used it over and over, even after it had become hard and lumpy. Ultimately, I used both arms at the inside crease of my elbow. Like I said, I missed and missed and missed. At the time there was no lump like it went in my skin or arm though. It has been three days since I touched a needle and my forearms (especially the most used one) is hard as a rock. It hurts from the middle of my forearm to midway into my bicep area and I CANNOT STRAIGHTEN my arm! It is swollen and it hurts incredibly horribly. It is not getting ANY better. From everything I have read (and I have been reading for 3 hours), it is not an abscess. There is no puss and no specific lump. It is more generalized. The crease itself is becoming red and is warm to the touch. It looks weird because of the swelling and the creases. I don't even have any track marks or bruises. It is just swollen, stiff, hard, and hurts like hell! I have tried ice (no help) and a heating pad, which helped me straighten my arm a little for a short while. It is stiff as a board again now. I have taken tylenol and advil. I just don't know what it could be. I have looked at pictures of abscesses and I just don't think that's it. PLEASE HELP ME. I don't have anyone I can ask or tell about this. If I do have to go to the hospital, what in the world could I say? Thank you soooo......much!

I think that the best advice would be that if you really are that worried about yr arm then the best thing to do would really be to go to your hospital.
If you do go to hospital then I would advise that u are totally honest with them so they know what they are dealing with and the best way to go about treating you.
Good luck and hope all goes well.

Thank you. I was hoping that I would get some different advice or possible explanations for my condition other that going to the hospital. For obvious reasons, I am trying to avoid that. To further complicate matters, I am in a court battle and I do not want that on my medical record in the event that they are subpeonaed (word?sp?). Obviously, if it is life-threatening, I will just have to suffer the consequences. Thank you for answering me though and if you have any other ideas, please feel free to share them! Take care.

It's probably an inflammation of the vein.

It usually goes away with some compresses but I don't know to what point you damaged your vein. It may be less or more extensive. To be honest I've never seen an arm after hitting the same vein for a few days.

Holy shit that sounds so horrific. Get to a hospital NOW. You can lose your fucking arm. What the hell were you thinking ?

I mean like. If it's seriously as bad as you said. You have a 50% chance of developing necrosis and your arm will have to be amputated.

If you don't want to be a 1-armed person for the rest of your life. GET OFF BLUELIGHT AND GET TO A FUCKING HOSPITAL NOW.

Redness & warmth are classic signs of infection. It doesn't sound like compromised blood flow, unless your fingernails are not as pink as normal. Your ex should not be able to get copies of your medical records unless you sign a release of information form allowing that or your records are called into court with a court order signed by a judge, not simply a request from opposing council. I'd get to a hospital ER ASAP. As a shooter myself & working in the medical field, I've seen some wicked stuff, so please take care of yourself & go now.

I second all the calls to get to an ER. There are so many things that could be damaged in that part of the arm. Blood clots are another danger. If you get a clot and it dislodges it can go to your heart and kill you. All the shit with your court case won't matter fuckall if you're dead.

I hope you're not posting here right now because you are being treated. If you are reading this, GET OFF BLUE LIGHT AND GO TO A FUCKING HOSPITAL. NOW.

I'm going to close this thread. OP, if you haven't already...get off the Internet and seek medical attention right now.

PM me if/when you read this if you have any questions.
