i've tried twice about 12 hours apart to plug 2-3mg of the suboxone strips dissolved in water. where is this rush i keep hearing people talk about? don't get it :(

Some people get a little rush, and others don't. It's not like the IV rush, although iirc you haven't IV'd so the comparison doesn't mean anything.

Also you are likely past the honeymoon stage with suboxone. When using it recreationally it loses its magic pretty quickly, and most people get a proper high from it a few times a month. Another issue may be if the suboxone is causing constipation there may be less room for it to be absorbed.

Try it again after a break and see if it happens, but again I don't see many people raving about the rush from rectal administration of suboxone. Even with IV use the rush may only occur for some people after a break, so don't expect miracles with plugging suboxone if you are using suboxone, heroin, or other opiates/opioids regularly.

I think the reason you don't feel a rushing sensation is that you're on it for maintenance. As TB said, you're not going to get very high after you've been taking it for maintenance for a while, just like methadone. Methadone patients often exceed double their normal dose in attempts to "get high" but they don't accomplish what they're trying to do, it's just unnecessarily putting unsafe amounts of opioid narcotics in your system.

All in all, tommyboy covered it.

Another reason for that lack of "rush" might be that the dose you are using is too high, and if your tolerance demands it then you simply will not be able to truly enjoy buprenoprhine. Sorry.

This was a good way of putting it. Besides. I have not heard of many talk of buprenorphine providing much of a rush, especially when plugged. It's a subtle drug, IV is identical to rectal in terms of onset and euphoria. The maximum dose I would plug would be 1mg.
