someone correct me if im wrong but i thought coffee ground looking vomit was always a sign of a severe bleeding ulcer somewhere in the gastrointestinal tract? if you developed a tear in your rectum i assume you'd bleed red blood. feces turn black due to the presence of red blood cells that have been in the intestines long enough to be broken down by digestive enzymes, and is typically due to bleeding in the upper digestive tract. my father had the same symptoms as you, black chunky vomit, black bowel movements that had a nasty iron smell to it. he ended up having to go through a couple surgery's to try and stop the bleeding. definitely go back to the hospital if you continue to vomit black or have black bowels. you may be in need of a blood transfusion if the bleeding does not stop.

Sorry for the late bump but I wanted to inform u all that the black stool/black vomit was actually a result of over use of anti-innflamatories over the course of six months due to my bad back. This caused a stomach ulcer.. Btw.. I still plug using a 10ml syringe (with plenty of slippery stuff!) with no issues at all and a FAR greater & faster pain relief effect and euphoria than oral or snorting.

when plugging are you supposed to crush the pill up mix it with water and plug that or do you filter it like an IV shot then plug? sorry for going of topic i just didn't want to start a thread for this
also i would be checked out further OP to try and find the cause of you puking out black vomit

It can be a sign of an ulcer. It can also be something more serious.

The fact that OP is vomiting blood and passing black blood in his or her stool suggests that the bleeding is not happening in the lower intestine or rectum, but higher up. This also means it is not caused by plugging.

I think it could be from digestive problems caused by heavy opiate usage and the slowing down of digestion it causes. Please go back to the doctor OP. You really need to have a full workup to be sure that the bleeding is stopped. This could be life threatening. People do die from GI problems as a result of heavy drug use.

I am very glad to hear that there was a simple explanation. Hope you are feeling better. Out of curiousity, did the doctor prescribe anything like carafate or a PPI? If you are still having issues I would suggest prevacid or prilosec OTC. If you have any questions about this I happen to specialize GI.
