Plugging or parachuting temazepam?

just to verify: parachuting would yield a faster onset only, whereas plugging, done properly, should yeild a higher absorption?

i ask because i've been rxed a few and haven't slept in literally 3 days - going thru alcohol wds (damn. i have a new respect for alcoholics. ive always been an H addict, and u can't die, just get dehydrated/malnurished, kicking opiates, but alcohol wds r no f'ing joke. i've had two seizures in 4 days....) i took my first resoril tonight and woke-up a few hrs later.....taking w/gratefruit juice and everything...just took a second, but didn't parachute or plug....suggestions?

Plugging has a higher absorption rate, and the onset is very quick too. That's probably what you want.
Be careful with your alcohol WDs. I had two seizures from benzo WDs last year and you should seriously get checked out. I happened to be in a bathroom during the second one and ended up with a mild concussion from the fall on the tiles, hah. And that's ignoring the danger of simply having a seizure.

As they are being used for alcohol WDs I would consider oral to be the best ROA. With most thing that gets you the longest duration of action, which is what I'd be aiming for. Other methods only cause you to need to redose more frequently, which then in turn is more likely to lead down the path of addiction to benzos.

As you've seen for yourself, withdrawal from alcohol is very nasty indeed, and I would urge that it may be in your best interest to seek professional medical help.

i have gotten help. i had the second seizure in the ER waiting room actually - right after i had asked one of the nurses, "i hate to ask for special treatment, but i'm going to have a seizure any minute, and i should probably lay down, while i'm waiting, so i don't hurt myself"

in any case THANK U, all, for your help. this is new territory for me, as i've been a junkie (in recovery) most of my adult life, and have really no experience w/alcohol wds. so......after not being able to go even a few hrs w/o drinking for the past few months (and i have hep C and am the only parent of a two yr old, so this has been a hateful, horrible nightmare- the more i loved him, the more i hated myself)), well, its day 2 of no alcohol and AA mtgs, so things r looking good! :)

This has already been addressed, but I just thought I'd mention that temazepam has an oral bioavailability of 96%, so if rectal administration does yield a higher BA, it isn't much at all. Like bronson stated, oral administration will leave you with a longer effect. Good luck on your sobriety; it's a difficult and ongoing process. From what other addicts have said, sometimes it never gets easier, and you have to fight it every day. There's really no such thing as an ex-addict.

Swallow it whole, it is the benzo with the fastest absorption rates and has almost impeccable oral BA.

Swallow the capsules on an empty stomach . You will feel effects in around ten minutes

Good for you! I'm so sorry you are having to go through this and then also raising a two year old... You seem to be getting your priorities in order and at two years old, you still have many wonderful, meaningful, important years left. Keep up the good work and along with the AA meetings, Bluelight is an excellent source to give encouragement and knowledgeable feedback, especially the top notch mods and bluelight crew! <3

I would most definitely recommend that you swallow whole with the absorption rate at 97%
