I still say Christmas should be like the Olympics. Every four years. Every year seems a lot. And people were getting mad at the commercialization years ago.
I’m not a total grinch. I believe people should look at the deeper meanings of Christmas, and how it applies to their life. Or else don’t celebrate.

I couldn't agree more mate. I've always said that Xmas should be every other year, but I'm liking the every four years idea.
The stress and expense of doing it annually has removed all enjoyment for me.

Can’t believe I’ve never thought of this but what an amazing take.
I’ve watched many around me go into debt this year and panic and stress over buying fucking presents.
It’s only by being out of work I’ve not been socially savaged for not participating.
As else I’d be a “miserable selfish bastard”
I’m all for celebrating but that is a celebration with a reasonable well cooked meal that isn’t just slop, and with the right people, not a peer pressured shopping frenzy

My brother (RIP) once told me the best gift I can give him at Christmas is no gift.
Another thing that sort of irritates me is it supposed to be a time we are of good cheer and lightness. Does that mean the rest of the year we can be assholes? I mean in 2025 I believe we have a lot of dumb humans that probably really do think that.
