As is customary, many of these patients had been receiving large doses of analgesics and opiates to help relieve their pain. Surprisingly, when the ascorbate therapy was introduced it was observed that in many instances pain was relieved and the analgesics were no longer necessary. Perhaps more surprisingly, no withdrawal symptoms were experienced by these patients.

So patients taking Vitamin C (sodium ascorbate) won't need opiates to help with their pain anymore, and they won't feel any withdrawal when stopping the opiate??

What dose of Vitamin C?
 
60g of VitC will give you a fart so big you'd be ripped in pieces before you would be deaf (couldn't resist...)
 
I wonder why the first researtch was done in 1978/1977.After that recheartch wend low.
I it looks very h3lprull for withdraw an for people on opioids for pian, if i understand right this lowers tollerace ,and we really need something like that in the medical word right?

^ That it is written by someone with a Linus Pauling type approach, that you can treat nearly anything with huge doses of vitamin C, i.e. cure viral diseases. The citations used to support this conclusion are vastly obscure, horrifically produced trials, i.e. not blind, not placebo controlled, not replicated (large number of n=1 trials). i.e. They are of no scientific value.
 
I'm gone try getting on this as well ,it could/shout work for cravings and i just got off of methadon.

That paper has made believing the pharm inductor didn't like this and got rid of it so they could make more money. I will let you know what i think of it, could i buy this stuff in the drug store because i don't know it he will give it too my.
 
According to one source i read a vitamin c overdose in oral form causes headache, increased urination, flushed face, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. It says that the overdose can feel like a flu or cold.

Also i remember reading somewhere that high doses of vitamin c taken over a extended period of time can cause kidney damage.
 
i got taught one time that it can precipitate and cause kidney stones. This is apparently one of the most painful things as is gout (uric acid).
 
I all readdy take 3 gram a day on docters notice.

In terminal cancer, the ascorbate analgesia was so good that the patient's toxic morphine schedules were discontinued. Thus high levels of sodium ascorbate mimic morphine and probably fit into the opiate receptor sites. The fact that these terminal cancer patients abruptly removed from their morphine showed no withdrawal symptoms was one piece of evidence that indicated our megascorbic treatment of drug addiction would be successful

jasoncrest-you could take like5 grams with your methadone and i think you would get higher.

Are you citing that freaking website again man? You need to stop relying on a biased source of information, that is reporting completely biased information.

Get on pubmed, and look up some actual scientific data.

I cited a paper before showing that ascorbate prevents opioid induced death in rodents, supporting the idea that ascorbate somehow prevents the action of opioid receptors, the is again supported by this paper [1], that shows ascorbate reduces the efficacy of opioid induced analgesia.

here is a more complicated paper, discussing how ascorbate modulates the biphanic effect of opioids on receptor signalling.

And i don't understand most of the pubmed site's because i'm duth and don't know enlisch so well
