Im currently in a substance and alcohol abuse prevention program called GCASA (Genessee County Alcohol & Substance Abuse), i've been attending since Febuary. The majority of the others attending are referred there from either drug court or probation, me on the other hand, get the crazy look from everyone when i tell them that i had signed myself up =D I had realized that i was too weak to become sober on my own, and decided to seek help. Which apparently is not the 'cool' thing to do. Fortunatly for me i realized a while ago living the drug life that its not cool to live for only getting your next fix. But thats besides the point lol

Anyways, on the intake i was asked by the intake counseler what my primary drug of choice was. I had said how it started with scritly just marijuana use, but as in most cases, the high became boring or useless. I had decided to list opiates as my main concern for being there. Because as any stoner knows, THC is a great, soothing, and recreational drug but isnt hard to drop the habit. Mainly anything besides speedy drugs and hallucinagens was my reason for being there.

While starting they suggested going to a local mental health clinic to recieve a prescription for opiate withdrawls. They explained one in perticular, Saboxone. They described how it was used to block one of the three opioid receptors in the brain to cancel out withdrawls, but not recieve any euphoria or high that can cause relapse. I ended up deciding to go through the torturous withdrawls on my own, kind of my mindset of punishment to learn i never want to go back to that life. I made it through quite well.

But when i was going to group meetings, Soboxone was brought up as a topic to discuss. Many in there had admitted to insufflating Soboxone at one point in time, and had described it as a very intense high close to large doses of Oxys. Thats where this question comes into play... If its scientificly developed to avoid abuse by those who dont intend to use it for its primary use, how can these people be getting high? Was it possible they were lying to sound cool? Or is there actually a way they managed to recieve a high from this medication? Point in question, I just became puzzled that some say they as well as others were able to abuse this medication for they're own recreational purposes, but doctors say it cant be abused?

It's strong, but it doesn't feel strong...
This can make it easy to take too much but overdose is uncommon (it also has Antagonistic properties at mu-receptors, as well as Agonistic).
It's less clouding, less sedating, less intense (but can be enjoyable to some I suppose).
It wasn't sedating - and "something" - enough for me so I relapsed.

i used to take suboxone to get off dope. honestly, sniffing it burns, so i'd shoot a couple here and there. definitely nothing to write home about BUT the drug company is full of shit when they say you'll get sick from consuming it any other way than sublingually. if you take a sub and shoot dope later that day you will not get off though.
though my experiences weren't impressive, i did have one friend who would get real fucked up sniffing them. he had about a 2 bag dope tolerance, no habit, and they were 2 mg subs.

Before I started doing opiates on a regular basis I took a 8mg sub one night to get high. OMG it fucked me up beyond belief. I disolved the nasty thing under my tongue around 6pm and went to help my gf at the time babysit. I was so damn high, it was kinda scary. Then next day I woke up around 9am and still felt a little buzz.

Fast forward 3 years and I now have a heroin addiction and suboxone doesnt do a damn thing but make me feel normal. So weird how it can get you high as hell one day and then just because you start taking opiates it is unable to get you high any longer. The body and brain are strange in the way they work.

It doesnt get you high if you take it for maintenance my non addict friends always ask me for lines of it so I guess it is good.

Actually it can get you high if you take it for maintanence....I take it every single day for maintanence and I get MANY euphorical highs from it, every day.

The problem is that people on maintanence take too high doses of suboxone and at the high doses you cant get the euphoric effects....if you take doses lower than 1-2mg's you can actually get high off of it on a daily basis....it doesnt matter if you are tolerant to opiates or not....like someone said earlier.

I take about 0.5 mg doses, sometimes several times a day, and it gets me high every time. All you gotta do is actually KNOW what your doing. Lots of the information out there about suboxone given out by the doctors and drug companies is false, dont listen to that....they blatantly lie to you about certain aspects of the medication.

Trust me, you CAN get high from suboxone even while on maintanence, and even while opiate tolerant. I do it every day and I have one of the biggest opiate tolerances that I have ever heard of. I use to IV heroin in massive amounts for years.

Ditto.

I snorted my suboxone for four years. I got incredibly high the first few days I was on it, but after a week or so the high went away and all I got was a tiny quiver of a mood lift a half hour or so after snorting it. Even if I doubled my 8mg dose (which i took twice a day) and took 16mg I wouldn't get much of a high.

After I tapered, however, and got to where I could take .5mg a day, i started noticing a good opiate buzz after I took it. Nothing too powerful, but definitely nice and satisfying.

Odd how suboxone has more abuse potential at lower doses. I even got good buzzes from taking .2mg a day - much better than a 20mg dose.

yeah doses under 1 mg can get people pretty high even if theyre on it for maintenance, the metabolite of buprenorphine--norbuprnorphine is more potent than bupe, and its a full agonist, not just a partial agonist, so it has more of the properties and feelings of a regular opiate like oxy or whatever

the REASON for SMALLER doses getting you HIGHER is because when taking a larger dose, all the mu receptors are taken up by buprenorphine, however, with smaller doses, there are more mu receptors free for the norbuprenorphine to latch on to, resulting in a pleasant, more full agonist-esque high, although not quite like oxy or heroin or whatever your DOC may be.

when i use suboxone i generally insufflate, and occasionally plug 0.5 mgs, or a quarter of a 2mg pill
