Guys...A friend received a few pills believed to be generic oxycodone 5 milligrams. On one side there is 512 and the other is plain with a "cut in half" slit. Rxlist mentions it to be a Cipro tablet. But they also mention that 512/HD would be the oxycodone. How can this pill be Cipro if Cipro does not have a generic??? Please help. Im not looking for an ID just for some advice.

you can always take it and find out. neither will hurt you. not that i'm recommending that people swallow unidentified pills or anything though...

First off, unless you are allergic to whatever family of antibiotics Cipro is in, taking a few won't really hurt you. I have personally never seen a cipro tab that fits the rxlist description. I think that it is just a misprint. Secondly, you know the policy on pill ID's. Even though you are not directly asking for one, you are still on shaky ground regarding the policy. For pill id's, if rxlist doesn't work, there is a new one (drugs.com??? I'm sure someone here can point you in the right direction.) Also, if all else fails, try searching, and that failing, posting the ID in the google group (groups.google.com) alt.drugs.hard. They are a lot more receptive to these kinds of Q's. Also, if the pill is anything worth while, it will probably have already been ID'ed several times before. Just do a search. The engine is much faster than this one. Oh, and a little hint...that particular pill is manufactured by mallinkrodt labs.
