I am on maintenance Suboxone therapy and had a mishap with Methadone 48 hours ago. Can I safely start taking my Suboxone again? Yes, I know it was a stupid mistake. I am just looking for some helpful advice please. Thanks to all who do have anything to offer!

In a clinical setting they will make you wait 72 hours between taking methadone and starting suboxone so, if you're worried about it, there's your number. Honestly though if it was just once, I think you'll probably be okay after 48. Then again, if you're not, it's gonna be some nasty shit, so you may want to wait the three days.

How are you actually feeling mayaniko? I still agree with everything wezface said but I'm curious where you're at right now.

Methadone's half-life is so long that that may be a very bad idea. It could very well still be in your system for quite some time after you begin to experience withdrawal symptoms, and the precipitated withdrawal caused by the suboxone, if that is the case, is going to be really nasty. Wait as long as you possibly can and really try to do the three days IMO.

from my experience, just wait untill your sick from WD then take the bupe just to be safe

If you're not using Methadone regularly you will just wait. Methadone withdraws are very intense when you use it for longer periods. Depending on the dosage as well..
