Last night I took some lsd wrapped in a gum wrapper, and my cat ate the gum wrapper. Hes been weird since! it was about 17 or so hours ago now and I feel terrible! Hes been more lathargic and hes been staggering a bit as he walks. Will he get better!?! Has anyone accidentally given their cat acid before!?! It wasnt that high of a dose, thank god. He was able to walk a little last night, but he kept scratching everything manically, especially this one rug. And occasioanlly he would fall over and just lay somewhere. He seems to be less responsive than he was. And way less playful and active. Hes about 5 months old. Please give me advice!!!

I just tried to post this a minute ago and Im not sure if it worked, so Im posting again. Sorry

Not much you can do now, except help him integrate the experience. Give him extra attention, show him love, don't freak him out... How much of the acid do you think got onto the wrapper? Was it moist? He'll probably be ok.

I'm reminded of the time a good friend's stash was eaten by a mouse. Some dry alphabet soup noodles were laced, and the (wild) mouse got into it. When my friend was peaking, the mouse came up to her and just stared at her face... then keeled over, never to eat more "treats." It was dead.

I think your cat might have gotten a good trip, but not too much to worry about. Just bring him back to this world on his own time. Report back after a while, why don't ya?

Oh the poor thing.

I highly doubt a cat would have a "good trip" on a psychedelic; they don't know what they took or what's happening to them. Animals also have a very strong and ingrained body/mind connection so for an animal to experience what LSD has to offer I'm sure would be quite hellish.

Show him some love, cuddle, and ease him through it. I don't think taking him to a vet is going to do any good. Also explaining the situation wouldn't go over well.

Best of luck to the poor kitty <3

at least this was an accident, and not the result of some asshole fore feeding the poor animal.

Maybe throw on a Dark Star from say .. '72

I'm sure the cat will be fine. Seriously. Love is the glue as we all say.

You said last night you took some lsd, so did your cat eat just the wrapper without the LSD in it?

If so, i think the amount of acid she ingested is probably very low. I think your kitty will be okay.
Just take JackARoe's advice.

The Grateful Dead have always helped me when im having a rough trip :)

the gum wrapper was probably harder on your cat than any amount of lsd that could have possibly been on it. has he passed a bowel movement since then?

Oh woops, I thought there was a hit of LSD inside the gum wrapper when the cat ate it.

Yeah, the 1 or 2 molecules of LSD that may have been on the gun wrapper would do nothing. Any problems likely come from the physiological problems of the gum wrapper in the GI tract.

If he has passed a bowel movement check to see if the gum wrapper is in it. If not, maybe wait a bit, if it doesn't come out; go see a vet and tell them he ate a gum wrapper and it hasn't come out.

uhhhh aren't wee animals?

^speak for yourself ;)

What I meant by "good trip" was that it was probably moderately intense. I do believe animals can have good, happy trips, but an animal should never be dosed. Unless your cat wants to hang around you smoking pot... Then it's a choice :)

Well, I think this one has come to a natural end. As others have said, the amount of any possible acid contamination on something used to wrap acid would be negligible at best and it's more likely that your cat is suffering from a blocked intestine than a bad trip if anything. If it still shows signs of discomfort and hasn't passed the gum wrapper then take it to the vet and explain it ate a gum wrapper - no need to mention the acid at all. Sure it'll be just fine :)
