I dont have time to search threads and im sure you will be annoyed i am posting in the wrong section or whatever...

but my GF just took 2 of my 30mg oxycodone pills. She weighs about 110 pounds and has low tolerance. Should I be concerned about an overdose? or do you think she will be fine from 60mg's?

thanks

Without tolerance, that is quite likely a dangerous dose. Please seek medical attention.

If she has consumed any other depressant in the past several hours, it's even more dangerous. Make sure that is also taken into consideration. Either way, I wouldn't risk letting her ride that out.

60mg is a massive dose for an opiate naive individual.

She'll probably puke her brains out but I don't think she'll overdose

<Mod note: I disagree with this post and don't feel it's in the interest of safety/harm reduction (it's far better to err on the side of caution when responding to these kinds of threads where someone's life could be at stake) but I'm leaving it up just because someone already replied to it. -Swimmingdancer>

ok thanks for the quick responses. she has taken opiates before, but never this much at once. and its been a few days since she has taken any at all (usually takes 10 - 20mg).

I completely disagree. That is an extreme dose for someone without tolerance.

OP, at the very least, monitor her closely. If she falls out, don't hesitate to dial medical help.

Listen, some opiate naive individuals cannot comfortably handle 10mg of Oxycodone. Some puke their brains out on that dosage alone. Six times that can cause a serious problem. I personally knew an individual who passed many years ago from a similar dose without tolerance. It's a risk. 30mg is one thing without tolerance, 60 is quite another. I wouldn't risk it.

Edit: OP, what was her response like in the past when she has taken 20mg of Oxycodone? Was she nodding out? Vomiting?

Yeah, I am keeping a close eye on her and making sure she doesnt nod and making sure we go outside and go for walks. she hasnt taken anything else today.

she can handle 20 without puking or nodding. then at 30 she nods and has puked a few times. i consider that a low tolerance. but she isnt a novice to be sure.

Okay. As long as she isn't completely opiate naive it wouldn't likely a cause a fatal OD. Still keep her well monitored to be sure.

This all comes down to her exact tolerance at the time and how well she naturally tolerates opiates, and that can vary quite a bit from person to person, which is hard to ascertain over the Internet.

I hope everything ends up without incident and I'm glad she has you to watch over her.

This could definitely be a dangerous dose for a small person with a low tolerance. I would monitor her VERY closely, do not leave her alone and do NOT hesitate to call emergency immediately if she becomes unresponsive with shallow breathing, her nails or lips turn blue or anything else worrisome happens. If at all in doubt call emergency.

^This. We don't really allow these kinds of threads for this reason. We don't want medical attention to be delayed because you are waiting for replies on an internet forum instead of calling 911.

Please let us know if she is ok <3

she SHOULD be alright (at least by now) but if she still isnt and her breathing becomes shallow/slow then call EMS. i remember taking 120 mgs of and 4 mgs of ativan with none/low tolerance to both and i was barely breathing but told my mom not to take me to the hospital even tho she wanted to.

i should have went. its not fun when you OD like that or even come close, its scary. if stuff goes bad i would take her to the hospital.

I'm going to close this thread since, as mentioned, we don't do emergency threads and the OP has not posted back but please PM me when you see this and I can reopen it so you can update us on what happened. Thanks.
