Hi,

Im in my mid twenties and tried mdma/X for the first time a few months ago. The experience was amazing to say the least. I had never felt anything remotely to close to those few hours previously in my life.

I ended up rolling on 4 other occasions over the next few months. On the fourth occasion I didn't roll as hard as normal and ended up getting a headache. When I got home I felt fine besides the headache, just a bit tired. After being home for about 20 minutes or so I became extremely nauseous and felt like I was gonna pass out. My first thought was maybe my blood sugar was low cause I hadn't eaten much the entire day. I tried to eat something but i just couldn't. My roommate was there and he sat with me, I felt extremely ill and was about to go to the hospital. My roommate suggested sitting outside for a bit to see if the fresh air could help. I sat outside with him, the fresh air helped a little but I still felt pretty sick, something I had never experienced before. I had experienced bad comedowns prior to this, but this was something completely different.

Eventually I was able to eat a few scoops of ice cream, drank some water and lied down to go to sleep. At this point I still felt pretty ill, but I thought it may just because I got no sleep the night before either. I passed out instantly.

I woke up about 5 hours later and felt pretty much fine. Actually I felt prett normal, not sick at all.

Im not sure if what I took was MDMA/X, the pills were never tested. They were from the same dealer tho and 5 other people who took them that night are completely fine.

Now a month passes and everything is well. I even stopped popping due to that experience. Over the next little while, people start commenting on how I look different. Like my face is sunken. I basically shrug it off. Over the next few months, more and more people all unrelated to each other comment on how I look very skinny. People ask me how I lost so much weight, am I sick etc.. I get concerned and when I look in the mirror i dont notice much of a difference, so i chalk it up to weight loss. I eventually go weigh myself and the scale says that I weigh the exact same I always have been for the last 5 years. I look at my body and it looks the same.

Then i decided to take a picture of my face and compare it ones I had prior to the drug use. What I saw when I compared the pictures completely shocked me.
I looked at the new pictures and my temples, cheeks and eyes had all sunken in. My whole face looked like a different shape. If you were to look at just the pictures you would surely think that I had lost 20-30 pounds. Thats how drastic the change is.

I searched everywhere on the net for something similar to this and cant find anything related to this. Honestly it looks like I have lipodystrophy of the face, similar to what HIV meds cause. My temples, cheeks (below the zygoma) and undereyes have gone concave. My zygomatic arch has become prominent.

I have read that Rhabdomylosis is common with MDMA. That is the only answer that I can come up with here. Possible my muscles of mastication atrophied, but this doesnt really make sense either because it looks like I have lost fat from all over my face, much more like lipodystrophy.

I have blood tests for basically everything possible, everything came back normal. I have seen many doctors and they tell me it must just be age related volume loss. I can guarantee you that its not age related volume loss because everything occurred over that one month after that event where I got sick. Ive even gotten an MRI and that was normal.

I dont know what to do anymore, I have become extremely depressed and am on antidepressants for severe depression and benzos for panic attacks. Every doctor I see just thinks im a nut that needs more meds.

Im turning to this board for some insight/help/advice because I don't know what else to do. Ive developed major depression from this and get suicidal thoughts constantly. Im hoping someone here can help me figure out what happened and possibly reverse this, even though I know its highly unlikely. I am otherwise in good health, everything is in working order. One other change that has occurred is that I used to have extremely oily skin on my face along with my hair, now the oil has COMPLETY dried up. It has now been over 6 months since this occured and my face had not returned to normal, I actually think is sinking in more, but cant confirm it 100%. I can tell you it has not gotten any better even though I have not drank, smoke or popped at all. By the way im not a smoker of weed or cigarettes in general.

My face seems to be the only area affected which is very strange. I don't know if anyone has heard of anything like this before on this board, but I would really appreciate any help/advice!!

I have never heard of this before very interesting though, sorry im not going to be of any help but hopefully someone on here will be able to. Hope everything works out for you.

I'd say this is the problem. Heard so many stories on here along the lines of "it was never tested but my mates were fine." Get it tested.

dehidration will do that too. drink alot of water eat healthy foods and get some sun and I bet it goes away.

I wish I could test them, but this happened like months ago and none of those pills are left.

And I understand dehydration can do that to you as well. I always made sure to hydrate myself during usage and after. I drink a ton of water, eat healthy, get at least 8 hours of sleep a night and workout at least 3x week. This problem hasnt gotten any better. It's killing me.

I'm pretty close to being hospitalized. My panic attacks and depression are horrible now. My life had so much promise before this now I think about killing myself all day.

It's like one of those wierd nightmares you have that you wake up from a have a huge sigh of relief because it was only a dream. Only for me I wake up and realize its not and then get a severe panic attack basically everyday. My face is sinking in and I'm only 25.

I don't know where to turn.

Very weird.
If you think that these things are happening it will happen for sure, you are telling your brain that it is happening and you brain/body is believing.
When I rolled 2nd time, I started to think about about the side-effect people often says. "MDMA makes your memory weak" and trust me it affected me badly because 24.7 i use think about it that my memory is going weak !, Once I even forgot my building entrance code!
A person told me that I think about this problem thats why it is happening. After that I started not to believe it trust me am much much better than before !!! and i have rolled too many times after that !
Are you eating correctly ? I strongly advise start doing some exercises, especially weight training, it will help you alot ! Stay away from drugs/cigarettes for good time span

brain damage man, you have it. Not uncommon with mdxx compounds-plenty of solid research behind this. Adjust or die are the two options. Harsh i know, but this really is more common than people realize.

Can you link this 'solid research' otherwise your post is nothing more than scare-mongering. Also, you have no idea if he has brain damage or not so to say that is pointless, menial and scaring. I believe an MRI scan would indicate brain damage if it exists and it didn't display anything. Adjust or die is also false, i'm sure many have made recoveries and it is possible.

To the OP, see a doctor.

Why do you keep coming on here and telling everyone they have brain damage? I think you're the one that has brain damage....

wow.. i feel for you.. i couldnt imagine being much better if i was in that situation... i would however caution against looking at a single use of MDMA as the cause of this it may very well be that something in that pill caused this but as far as what is going to be a tought question to answer... the reason why i am skeptical about the connection between Rhabdomylosis and MDMA is that ancedotally i know *alot* of people that abuse MDMA on a *very* frequent basis and i do nto see this condition in any of them.. the articles i have read point out that observationally i should at least see someone in the group having some semblence of this condition but honestly i dont...

if i were you i would start researching *all* know designer drugs/research chemicals for a more concrete connection... keep researching at keep at it to try to pinpoint if you really have this condition and keep at trying to find any solution.. dont give up... ill leave you with this story: years ago i had a recurrent MRSA infection (before these became commonplace).. i went basically misdiagnosed for months, thinking i was going to have a chronic condition for the rest of my life and it caused depression for me as well... i kept researching until i figured out what it was myself, got the proper antibiotics (broad spectrum) and was and have been completely cured for years now... the point is dont count on anyone to help you except for you...

and good luck...

Thank you LastClubKid and everyone else who has offered support. It means alot to me.
Ya its probably not the best idea to think about just that one instance, but it just keeps popping into my head and it seems the changes happened after that day. But obviously I cant be sure.
I understand that I cant count on anyone to help me except myself, but I have been searching and researching non stop and have not a clue to whats going on. Rhabdomylosis was the only plausible thing I could come up with, but i do not have and weakness in my facial muscles which makes me feel that its probably not the case.
I also got a MRI done and the report stated no atrophy was seen. Im curious though, would they be able to see atrophy if they dont have a baseline image of my muscles?
It really looks likes lipodystrophy to me, but I have not come across any reports of recreational drugs causing this. The changes are bilateral and symmetrical it seems.
Ive read that they believe lipodystrophy caused by antiretroviral drugs may due to mitochondrial dysfunction, is it theoretically possible that MDMA/X can cause this? And when this occurs in the face the mitochondria and subcutaneous fat cells die and do not regenerate ever again, which scares the crap out of me.
Once again I know I cant expect anyone to help me but myself, but I am desperate and would be willing to PAY anyone who could research and ultimatley help me somehow. I would be willing to send pictures of my face to reputable members so they could get a better idea of what Im saying, im not willing to post my pics on the board for privacy reasons.
Even if anyone here could help point me to someone helpful such as drug researchers, that may be able to help me find a solution that would be amazing.
One other thing that I noticed while I was using was after wards when I tried to sleep, my sleep would be extremely weird. It was like I was asleep, but I wasn't. Thats the only way I can explain it, not sure if you understand. Ive read with pure molly it shouldn't feel like that. I did redose when i did roll though, so maybe its because I rolled more than once in a night? The times when I rolled only once I didn't get that type of sleep.
I never combined with any other drugs or alchohol.
