IM 29, i have been through heroin withdrawl more times then i can count
Beno+heroin withdrawl when i went to prison

I never started drinking untill the age of 28, when i was released from prison i instantly got back on benzos, currently 3mg kpin/day+30mg tamazpan/day

My drinking started about 7-8 months ago with a beer or two a day, then all the sudden about 3 months ago jumped to about 80ounces of beer, then over xmas i switched to vodka + beer.

Today is jan7th, since Xmas ive drank over 8 liters of vodka and i dont know how much beer, im constantly blacking out and most likely over using my benzos but im to afraid to count my bottles right now.

Today i is the first day i tried to go without drinking. I have a cold and im sick anyway so i figured lemme get this outa the way.
After i reached the 24hr mark im in so much physical pain i cant handle it. My body is on fire. im sweating like crazy and everything hurts just like heroin withdrawal but way fuckin worse.

What do i do? My benzo tolerance is so high they are not helping, is there something els i can take to get through this? i already caved tonight and just went to get beer. Maybe i should wait untill i dont have a cold and try again? Im freakin out my drinking is so outa control im doing crazy shit i just need fuckin help some kinda solution, ive cold turkey detoxed heroin in my bed before with xanax, water, emergenC, advil and Ensures but this is just to fucking intense.

If your body is physically dependent on alcohol, you can go into seizures from stopping abruptly. Alcohol withdrawal can be deadly. You can use the clonazepam but if you're already overusing them you might have a problem. It's best to try and stop drinking in a medical setting or under a doctor's care. You can try quitting on your own or tapering but it's not easy. I've tried it enough times and failed miserably. Not saying it's impossible, but alcohol's tricky. Welcome to Bluelight! :)

Alcohol withdrawal is serious. Trust me, I know from experience. Quitting booze cold turkey, without medical supervision, can lead to a lot of bad things.

The biggest risk with alcohol withdrawl is when you quit cold turkey after a very long time of drinking without pausing from time to time.
You hit me as you had a couple of weeks long binge but no prior alcohol addiction for years, so think this is not THAT dangerous.
Important is, did you eat well throughout all of this? Are you hydrated?

Hey buddy just call your doctor thats the best you can do, alcohol withdrawl is relatively easy compared to benzo's and opiates, its the staying sober that is the hardest part.

Much of what you feel right now might just be the nast hangover+cold.

Its doable, just dont ask to much of yourself.

Dont try this on your own, get to a detox. You are probably gonna need high doses of benzos for a couple of days, its best to be done under supervision.

coke, heroin, and booze withdrawal ive all been thru. alcohol, withdrawal will/can kill you. did it over a dozen times, last time, even in the hospital i was seeing cats, pissing and shitting myself, thats with benzos, medically giving. it gets worse over the years. its no joke. i'll take a weeks worth of h detox over one day of alcohol detox. bout to go do it again actually.

Thank you guys for your replies,

I gave up trying to do it while i have this cold, i have stopped liquor though, and im down to about a 6pack/day once the cold goes away ill try to taper a little more and im also tapering the benzos at the same time so that when the time comes and im at 1-2 beers a day i can hopefully use the benzos more effectively.

I cannot do this in a medical setting i have court issues im dealing with that prevent me from this. Im already on thin ice as it is, drinking isnt a violation for me but if i were to sign into a detox my PO would def send me away, and after 2 years in prison id rather not lose my freedom again.

This is tough but I like many others said have also been there and you are not alone. After drinking almost a full liter of vodka every day for about two months I tried to stop abruptly and had the worst panic attack in my life. My heart felt like it was going to hop straight out of my chest, vision became blurry, felt incredibly disoriented and literally thought I was going to die. I don't binge drink like that anymore getting the flu and being unable to drink for a week is what eventually helped me snap out of the cycle.

Hang in there man continue tapering with the benzos a six pack a day is not that bad and clearly you are making progress!

Benzo / Booze should not just be quit cold turkey - taper, do it slowly and it will be easier and will reduce the risk of you having major problems or simply relapsing.
