If by Saturday you still feel that way, then I will strongly consider deleting the posts.

Are you offering to do this for me ?? if so thank you so much, if not well At least your trying to find an agreeable solution

^ I edited that post. I can only delete your posts that you are unable to delete on your own because they are in closed threads.

^ Tommyboy is offering to do that if you go ahead and delete your other posts, and he will delete the ones in closed threads that you can't delete yourself. It's not up to the moderators to delete all of your posts, it's your responsibility to do that. And, even if Tommyboy is willing to do that for you, you should send him a PM with a link to all your posts that are in closed threads, otherwise it's not fair to expect a moderator to delete hundreds of posts for you.

EDIT: Oops, didn't see Tommyboy's reply :)

From the Greenlighters Guide:

"Everyone is free to manually delete or edit their own posts. It is the user's responsibility to take care of their own business. Do not expect the administrators to solve your problems for you. (In rare circumstances we will delete posts in closed threads, because you are unable to delete them yourself. But only if those posts are potentially incriminating or dangerous for you. And please, ask nicely; we're doing you a favour)."

I am asumming that I will be able to reactivate my account to do that because as it stands I cant see the post list

I appreciate what is being said, can I ask a technical question:-

I would have to go through each thread one by one find the posts and delete them, do you have to do that ? ...dont the site software tools allow you to mass delete.

I'm asking as I wouldn't expect anyone to to this manually foe me, its my issue after all.

let me know, if its manual for you I'll just re-activate my account and start the work over a period of time....but thanks for the offer

Can you see this list?

I don't know if it is only visible by mods. I don't have a "mass delete" option, but that is all I am going to comment on the moderator functions.

TBH thatnsounds like tyour hiding some features you dont want to admit to having, which is a little concerning for all who post here.

Come on guys this is all getting out of hand just work puty a solution and do it, I'm sure most of us have jobs ehere we have to deal with stuff like this evrryday, your making a mountain out of a mole hill

atm23, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Tommyboy isn't trying to hide anything, he's trying to help you out. And, there's a big difference between a job and being a BL mod --- mods don't get paid, we volunteer, so we shouldn't have to deal with shit as if we're at work getting paid for it.

I just read then BLUA.....do I really, have to do any of this just to get this done.....its ridiculous I',m just asking for you to delete my posts and account or even just put a marker on the account to say "no longer active"....it really is not that hard, I've worked in technology and it for 25 years.

I'm off for my tea now, hopefully by tomorrow someone will have come up with a solution....it really isn't rocket science

and thats why I didn't want him manually deleting my posts, if thats the only Way I'll do it myself but he seemed T obe suggesting there where things he could not tell me about how it worked.

BY the way I do voluntary work and if i told some one I couldn't help them as I wasn't being paid it wouldn't really look to good, you seem to miss the point of voluntary work. Pay or no pay has litt;ler to do wioth the quality of what you do IMO

^ I don't think I'm missing the point of voluntary work, but part of our moderation responsibilities does not include manually deleting hundreds of posts for users, which is why Tommyboy quoted the BLUA and the GL's guide, and no, you won't see any solution by tomorrow, YOU HAVE TO DELETE YOUR OWN POSTS, NO ONE IS GOING TO DO IT FOR YOU, end of story.

1. Go to UserCP - Edit Email & Password
2. Enter your current password into Enter your present password to continue:
3. Enter [email protected] into New Email Address:
4. Enter [email protected] into Confirm New Email Address:
5. Type out a string of a dozen random characters in notepad.
6. Copy them to your clipboard.
7. Paste them into the New Password:
8. Paste them into the Confirm New Password:
9. Click Save Changes.
10. Logout.
11. Clear cookies.
12. Live in peace.

If for some reason you can't paste into the password field (I can in firefox), then you will have to type out the password twice. Try not to focus on the characters and soon you will forget it. If your masterful 32 character memory truly can't be beat. Then YOU will have to find a solution perhaps by asking a friend or neighbor to enter a random string for you.

I would have to click on each of them one by one to delete them. I just don't have to click the edit button first like you do, ok? That is still 865 clicks of the mouse on my end though, and I am currently working on a research project on my other tab.

Then I am afriad tomorrow will see me break as many of BLUA ruless as I can within the bounds of my level of reason a decency.

I'm not having TB do all that work paid or not.

That way you will have no choice but to grant my simple wish...why would you be prepared to ban a spammer and not a user, by request...it makes no sense
