Plant and unharmful antiaggressives for psychotic aggression?

I have what doctors say is psychotic aggression. I don't have any psychotic symptoms per se but they say that the rages I have themselves are considered as a form of psychosis. I definitely have severe depression and severe anger and rage all the time when not on drug (the main two symptoms), I have extreme irritability at people, shouting, and smashing and breaking stuff. Risperidone worked well at 3mg but now I need 6mg. I have had the severe depression and rages since I was 16, now am 23. The other antipsychotics don't work as well, and I have failed many meds like aripiprazole, depakote, iloperidone, clonazepam, and more. I can't tolerate antispychotics, severe bowel problems, severe dystonia in the neck and want to be rid of riosperidone. Searching for novel antiaggressives turns up the same antipsychotics and bipolar meds. There are some like SRX-246 yet in trials but targeted for intermittent explosive disorder, no idea what use for mood/psychotic rage. Eltoprazine was labelled a serenic, but I dunno if it works. I want to research and try new things like plants, etc. that are safe and unharmful, yet potently useful. Any leads?

I'm not aware of any plants to control psychotic conditions. I could not handle Latuda, made me feel like I'm jumping out of my skin. My psych doctor said many antipsychotics have these effects. So now I'm on aripiprazole (abilify) and take benztropine to help with the side effects. Then I had a really bad side effect from the benztropine (could not urinate) My doctor advised me to cut that in half.

So I can relate to your frustration. Actually risperidone was the only one that I felt halfway normal on. Maybe it's going to take some time for my brain to adjust. I think you should tell your doctor that you want off and see if there is an alternative. Maybe someone here can chime in with some plant based alternatives. Wish you luck and Welcome to Bluelight!

Tulsi? It may help. I basically self-medicated with it (for a psychotic disorder) for a couple months. It took a lot, but it worked fairly well to calm me.

Valerian and Hops might be useful too.
