when i'm at home or at work, my bladder movements are perfectly normal.... but when i'm at a friends house or out somewhere i piss like every twenty minutes. not even yellow piss, clear like water. whats your diagnosis strangers?
:\

I'd also go with some kind of anxiety thing, do you drink more when you are at these places & just dont realise?

You will go to the toilet more when nervous. Something to do with affecting the nervous system. I tried to find a link for you but there isnt actually that much on it. It could also be that at friends houses and when you are out, you drink more. The first thing i do when friends come round is offer them a drink so it may be that

When Im nervous or even slightly uncomfortable (like with friends I dont see often or whatever, sometimes even friends I do see often) I tend to drink a lot as a kind of oral fixation thing. Maybe you are doing this? I guess anxiety could be making you pee more, but you still have to be injesting the water in the first place, especially enough to make your pee clear.

possible kidney problems - go to a doctor

Your also flushing salt out of your system. Increase your intake of electrolytes and salts.

(edit) wait i just finished reading the rest of your post

why don't you see your doctor anyway. eitherway even if it is anxiety your doctor can help you

"Hey doctor, like everyone else, I tend to piss a lot more in nervous situations."

"Alright, I'll prescribe you a alprazolam addiction!"

Seriously, I don't think something this minor validates a trip to the doctor unless it stops you leading a normal life. (I'm half joking, if you feel you need to go, GO!)

Excessive pissing could be a symptom of diabetes. Do you have an unquenchable thirst? Do you wake up in the night to piss? Maybe you should get a blood sugar level test done.

You're assuming he/she would prescribe a benzodiazepine & you're also assuming the OP will abuse said benzodiazepine.

You're not really flushing salts out, since all the kidney is doing is getting rid of excess water so as NOT to dilute the salts in your bloodstream too much. So, if you're drinking lots and lots of water, take it easy a little...or perhaps it's just an anxiety thing, like other people have mentioned.

That posts seems so stupid.........I couldn't have been sober.

Differential Diagnosis:
1. Anxiety
2. Diabetes
3. Glomerulonephrotic Syndrome (kidney failure)
4. ACTH deficiency (hormone from pituitary gland; normally releases aldosterone --> sodium retention in kidney --> water retention)
and there's some other, less likely, possibilities

Anxiety. It's from your "fight or flight" reflex in nervous/anxious situations. There are some drugs out there that fight this "overactive bladder" syndrome.

There are drugs out there that specifically deal with 'overactive bladder":

Ditropan XL, Detrol, Oxytrol, Sanctura, Enablex, and Vesicare.. and lots others. Talk to your doctor about it.

Benzodiazepines do wonders of course, why take a drug that gives no recreational value such as the above ones when a nice Ativan buzz is great? =D

Also, some food allergies/intolerances will do this.

I have a friends house, who everytime I go to I frequently urinate at.
everytime he comments that maybe I have diabetes or something
But it's only his house.
he's a messy messy man, and eats way too much junkfood.
I have intolerances to wheat, milk, egg and soy
but stay away from them, even when i'm there

Sometimes I might have a glass of coke there
and perhaps that's what sets it off, but a lot more then usual and a lot more then anywhere else under the same circumstances (eg a glass of coke)
I don't respond well to soft drinks normally, and stay away from alcohol, sugar and caffeine where possible usually, but this persons house I just urinate to a ridiculous extent.

As most people said, it's most likely anxiety related.

There are specific drugs available that are designed to relax "anxious bladders" (well, relax the muscles associated with the feeling of fullness etc) I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but your doc should know.

The easiest way to know if it's anxiety is to simply take a xanax or something similar, if the problem goes away, you know the cause.

I piss all the time (it was worse when I was a coke head), and now I still pee a lot, but I also drink a lot of water. I talked to a urologist about it, they ran some tests on my bladder, my bladder was fine and he thinks its just because I have anxiety issues (which I think I have slight anxiety issues, but I have yet to go to a psych or anything). He prescribed me Detrol LA, which helps with your bladder being overactive (I could be completely off on this, its what I remember, and my memory sux) and it helps a lot.

OK, I'll try this one.

Primary complaint is polyuria.

Anxiety? Maybe increased cortisol release leading to hypertension resulting in polyuria.

Diabetes is of course a possiblity, but unlikely unless other symptoms are present. Cover the basics first - is patient drinking too much water or using nicotine, caffeine, or other stimulants?

Get a urinalysis to check for glycosuria. If no glucose, but fatigue and other symptoms of diabetes, get a blood sample to check ADH levels. Also check blood glucose levels and pancreatic hormones.

Glomerulonephrosis, I guess it is possible but wouldn't it have been diagnosed before?

ACTH deficiency, I'm not sure why this would lead to polyuria. Maybe you mean ADH?

If things start pointing to diabetes, it's going to be a big work-up.

i'm pre diabetes i drink a shitload of water and piss very often. what do i do
