Piracetam Vs. Vinpocetine - And cheap piracetam!

Which is more effective/safe: piracetam or vinpocetine?

From what I've read, vinpocetine is cheaper and has more noticeable effects, but piracetam seems to be more "tried and true" and more well known.

Opinions?

No fucking sources

Thanks.

I just took a look at Erowid because I have actually never heard of these chemicals. I doubt there is going to be much information on this. I can't give you any insight, but there are a couple trip reports for the first chemical you mentioned at www.erowid.org.

Actually, I just checked again and there is a FAQ that I'm reading at Erowid.

After reading, I am not sure you are in the right forum for this. It is not a psychedelic topic.

Well, many people have been using these "nootropics" along with E and many other substances to boost their effectiveness. Many others have also used nootropics along with or after stopping smoking marijuana in order to improve their short term memory and general cognition.

So yes, the substances themselves aren't psychedelics, but they are very well known and discussed among many in the psychedelic community.

i'd go for piracetam (i started taking it a few days ago) - i know you can get it rather cheap sometimes, but i went for nootropil which was about €20 for 56 1200mg tabs.

I use piracetam and vinpocetine daily, along with huperzine A and dmae. I notice very positive cognitive effects. If you can afford it, try taking both. If you start taking piracetam, make sure to take a choline supplement as well.

i picked up some vinpocetine and gingko biloba today at the vitamin shoppe. i read a erowid report that spoke highly of the enhanced synergistic qualities of taking both. this will be my first time taking any nootropic, but i'm optimistic. if i remember correctly (this is why i got into to nootropics to begin with) piracetam has to be ordered online as its not available in the states. The FDA can go to hell....What i really need is hydergine, first synthesized by our mutual friend Albert Hoffman.

I've used piracetam for about a year, great stuff. I'd definetely go for the bulk powder, I take ~2 grams a day so 750g would last me an entire year. $20 per year aint bad ;)

piracetam is available in the us.

It isn't approved by the FDA, but that just means it can't be sold as a "dietary supplement".

If it isn't available locally, a google search can get you to a supplier.

First, This should be moved from PD.

I've heard a few people praising the effects of vinpocetine but still have yet to try it by itself. I take two 700mg doses of piracetam a day. I bought a Cap-M-Quik Machine with "00" Capsules so its easier to take. I work as a computer tech so having a mental boost from something really helps. It took a few days before I could tell the difference, consistency is key with it. Also like someone else mentioned, have a choline source. I don't know the science behind it (anyone here know?) but without the choline I got a headache everyday I used piracetam until I started taking it.

I've been meaning to pick up some piracetam for quite some time now, and general consensus is that it's very effective. I've wondered how it would effect my adhd...if it would allow me to focus without making me feel like a different person in the way that RX stimulants have.

It's very subtle, idk if it's just me but it seems to make me happier with life. Also the effectiveness varies from person to person. Some people feel absolutely nothing. For me I had to play with the dosage quite a bit then eventually found a dose worth taking.
