piracetam - lowers tolerance?

So what's the magical formula? Everyday x amount or the day before/of x amount??

Piracetam has been the only chemical with the claim of "restoring the magic" that has ever worked for me. I strongly recommend it to others from my own personal experience ;) My personal regimen is taking 2.5g an hour or so before I plan to roll. I've yet to have a non-magical roll on piracetam + MDxx.

This is personally a really high dose for me all at once. If you plan to take over 1.5g at once, you might consider taking choline with it because it may give you a headache. An energy drink that contains choline as well as quercetin (good for mdma as well) is the FRS wild berry drink.

If you do not have these struggles to begin with, you may have no benefit from piracetam, as you have not the barriers for which it overcomes.

Despite not using it for more than a week, I think I would agree with you. I don't use drugs with any regularity, and so perhaps I can't be repaired as piracetam seems to do.

To reduce tolerance, try an NMDA antagonist?

piracetam makes me feel more 'there'; wherever 'there' is; an exam, a set of relatively complex tasks at 'job', or experiencing the benefits of well-rationed dosages of alcohol and other, more extravagant oxidants :).

To sell yourself on it, try 2400 mg with at least 1200 mg choline and 5g of pharmaceutical-grade fish oil, on your next day off from any kind of intoxicant (or even cheeb). Do so before a full night's sleep, and you won't be sorry. YMMV.

oh yeah, SWIM was at the multiple-pills-no-roll stage too (like, 13-20 an evening). Now he can get off on half a pill if he doesn't smoke up or drink first. But aniracetam was the first step out of the rut, and what a terrible place that rut was...

I HIGHLY doubt using a nootropic will drop your tolerance from 13-20 down to a HALF..

From using it, i havent really noticed a drop in tolerance or a regain in magic, but it definitely takes away the hangover that's for sure.

i joined this forum specifically to say that i just bought the stupid large bottle of piracetam from amazon. the 501pill bottle.

a lot of things ive been reading on this forum have convinced me. not so much for "bringing back magic" but for the help in day to day activities. this is phenomenal.

I thought piracetam was pulled because it wasn't fda approved anymore.

Piracetam can be easily purchased as cheap bulk powder for a serious fraction of what amazon will charge. Do not support these kinds of online businesses :\
Why waste you money?
A year or so ago I procured over 200g for 25$.

In my honest opinion it's not worth it, but if you're going to but it anyway at least don't waste your money people 8(

I dont think we're supposed to post prices, but i got two and a half times that much ^ for that. had to say it. lol.

The effectiveness of Piracetam really depends upon your mental state IMO. If you have relatively "happy" life, I don't think piracetam will do much. If you have constant problems with anxiety, inability to concentrate and general depression, piracetam can be a godsend.

Personally, I'd totally agree with you.
I've never taken more than a moderate dose of anything (except alcohol age 14-17), and found piracetam to do nothing at all at 2400mg/day.

Edit: To clarify, by personally I mean this may well not be the case for everyone. I don't understand why it did nothing - it should have.

That may be your opinion but it is not science.

Care to explain how it seems to work for some people, but not for others? And I don't see what's unscientific about having a substance work for people with mental issues (be it anxiety, depression or inability to focus on work), but not for people without those issues?

Don't all mental meds work that way?

I never claimed anything about my "opinion" being the product of thorough scientific research. My opinion is based on personal experience (I've introduced quite a few friends to Piracetam) and reading people statements on this forum.

Finally, Piracetam seems to work for me. It helps me concentrate, reduces anxiety and makes me feel better. That's all I care about! :)

Honestly, no. There is plenty of available evidence but since you asked I will shed some light.
You claimed that piracetam will have no significant positive effects on people with a generally healthy mental state(Btw mental state =/= mental order or disorder). This is not the case and has been documented as such for decades.

Don't all mental meds work that way?
They do not. Drug receptor and enzyme targets, their affinity for those targets, mechanisms of action, half life, metabolic processes and byproducts, and excretions are different for every drug. There is also the important placebo factor to be considered.

Then by your logic I can assume you have some anxiety, depression, and/or other mental issues?

If this is the case then I am quite perplexed, as piracetam has done all of these things for me in the past and to my knowledge I have no current mental issues.

Sorry, but your theory - "The effectiveness of Piracetam really depends upon your mental state IMO. If you have relatively "happy" life, I don't think piracetam will do much. If you have constant problems with anxiety, inability to concentrate and general depression, piracetam can be a godsend. " is bunk.

If anyone wants my input on it's effect here you go:

I ordered 2kg (yeah 2000g) of it because I suspected all the suppliers were going to stop producing it (apparently I was wrong) and after taking it for a while on and off in spurts that last from a couple days to a couple weeks I can say that I love the stuff.

Mixed with a choline supplement (I use Lechithin as people recommended it as a choline supplement for it) it has made me feel like there is never that cloudy fog in your mind that keeps you from reaching your full potential. Everything seems easier and more enjoyable. School, work, driving, everything. I find that using it everyday makes it lose it effects after about one month so I now only use it when I need it to get through a week after a rough weekend of partying.

As for the way it affects mdma, I have only tried it once but all I can say is woowww. I took 4 grams of piracetam a day for three days prior to the roll and then 3.5 grams right as I dropped (as an "attack dose") and after 20 minutes I started feeling the 150mg of pure mdma to kick in already. At t+ 30 minutes I couldn't help but just to say "Fuck I feel fucking amazing!" to anyone I talked to without giving a fuck. I was in heaven. The only thing that made it worse was when I decided to have a red bull... and another one... another... and another. Four red bulls within an hour made me feel on top of the world but the crash absolutely floored me from the point of not being able to stop myself from dancing and talking to sitting alone bobbing to the music.

In short, piracetam = good but seems to only affect certain people in this way.
