What exactly are they? :\
I've been rolling for a good 6 months now and I have yet to get a 'pipe' but I hear a lot about them..why are they so bad and why are they being sold as MDxx?
 
Piperazines. They are bad because its a shitty drug, they're being sold as MDxx because they are suppose to have similar effects, though I've had them once and they were utter shit, nothing but slight stimulation and a headache for a long time.
 
I think the reason why piperazines have such a bad reputation is people normally take them expecting MDMA, the effects are way different and a lot of people find them very unpleasant. The main side effects are feeling sick, hot and cold flashes and not being able to sleep for several hours after the 'high' is finished.

They are sold as Ecstasy as they are cheap, easy to obtain and legal in many places so pressers can make them without the risks associated with MDMA etc. The effects can mimic several other drugs and a lot of inexperienced users don’t know they are taking anything unusual.

Lets face it if you had never had real MDMA before than how do you know that what your taking isn’t the real deal?

Before I ever tried MDMA I had a few friends who would do it and I attended a few parties where they were "rolling." They always seemed to be having a good time and stuff, but always warned me that I'd need someone with me for the come down because it just sucked and you couldn't sleep and you'd just be uncomfortable and crap.

Then when I started doing MDMA I got piped about my 3rd time doing it and realized I never wanted to feel that again. Sooo I educated myself, got on pill reports, got a test kit and began being addiment about only getting high quality MDMA pills.

Then I let my friends from before try the pills that I had been taking and they told me it was unlike anything they ever had before. Once I knew what pipes looked like compared to MDMA I asked them what differences they had felt and yeah... they had been taking pipes all those other times. Yeah, the best pills they had ever gotten before were Bart Simpson cut-outs. Blech. So they had no idea the effects they were feeling WEREN'T MDMA.
 
Wow guys that helps a lot. Thanks. Idk if it's pill id'ing or not but do you think you could tell me some physical signs to look out for that would help me identify pipes? For example, do they look different?
 
There is really no way to tell what something is unless it's tested. Pipes don't turn to a different color when tested with a reagent, however they fizz when the reagents touch them. I've personally never seen a real shitty (sketchy) looking pill, but most of the pipes I've seen on pillreports look REAL sketchy. They look crumbly and like chewable tylenol. Buy a test kit!

Have a look on pillreports and judge for yourself -

A lot of the cartoon cutout pills - Snoopy, Obamas, Barts, Homers, TMNT, Transformers were all piperazines. The thing with that 1up mushrooms, Garfields and Transformers were also MDMA (or MDMA+Meth).

Most piperazines are super well made pills, really clean press, shiney (as are some real pills) and taste like you have licked a battery/lemon - not like MDMA at all.

The below picture is of real MDMA pills on the Left and fake pills on the Right - as you can see theres no way of knowing which is which without testing it.

Hey SO I posted a post today in this the ecstacy discussion section "WHAT DID I TAKE!? Help me".

A lot of people suggested that what I may of taken as my first roll was piperazine.

My question is... if this is so, is there any long term side affects? Will this all pass in a few days? I am feeling much better now, but my eyes go in an out of heaviness, and I am still rather spacey.

A lot of my symptoms can be because I am slightly sleep deprived but never the less, I want to be sure that I am okay.

Any information about this, what can be helpful in soothing my symptoms, etc would be well appreciated.
