Just to clarify a couple of things posted above:
Pips are a relatively recent invention (as an mdma substitute) - From the late 1980's to the early 2000's there weren't any piperazine pills around at all. When mdma was in its prime there were dodgy pills but even then they would either be speed pills or just plain old low dose mdma - NOT piperazines.
All this talk of toughening up the laws in Asia makes little sense - I've said this a number of times - check out the Dutch reports and explain to me why they have been getting good beans while the rest of the world has been getting shit? You can drive to Holland in less than 3-4 hours from the UK so all it really looks like is that there are very few connections between the UK > Holland. - (Note: the Green Recycle pills that popped up the in the North of England recently are a good sign that someone in the UK has made a connection with a good Dutch manufacturer > this needs to happen a LOT more before the situation will really change)
Unfortunately, as the Dutch get ever more liberal with their drugs policies I believe they are also tightening up their exports - it's only when they are caught exporting their drugs that other countries can point their finger at them and say "Holland is to blame!" - as long as it stays inside their borders they are safe - There was a LOT more authentic Dutch bud floating around in the 1990's - the quality of bud in the UK today compared to back then is, frankly speaking, pathetic. ("Is it green?" - "Yes" - "That'll do.")
A more likely hypothesis is that the Dutch clandestine manufacturers have been consistently good at sourcing safrole and generally don't fuck about (it's worth mentioning that there aren't acres of trees that produce safrole growing in the Netherlands so they must be getting it from somewhere outside of their country.)
It may also be possible that they have the found an alternative route to making mdma that doesn't require safrole (or synthesised safrole?) > there are many ways to make mdma - do some reading on the web and you'll see what I mean.
I put it down to one of two things:
1) when some bright spark (wanker) had the idea of shifting legal highs in place of mdma - they were probably gobsmacked to see the positive response and just kept at it. Let's face it - A lot of people must think piperazines are okay as a subsitute or they wouldn't have taken over the market in the way they have.
2) Going back to the Asian link - I don't believe this - but it may be possible that Asian gangs took over trafficking of mdma everywhere except Holland and, when the laws tightened up over there, they simply fell back on piperazines as a safe replacement.
I honestly don't buy the second reason because it doesn't explain why the Netherlands has been consistent with its pills - it makes no sense that they would be getting all the safrole while everywhere else suffered a drought (yes, I am aware that the Netherlands DID suffer a 'brief' drought) This makes no sense in the long run.
The people at the top of the ladder who sell illegal drugs in bulk only give a shit about profit. That's why they're in the business in the first place.
There is nothing to indicate that they would turn around and say "hey, we can't sell that! it's not mdma!" > if it sells and no one cares then they'll just go along with it, regardless.

^ And again. The Neds have the last say re. pills with pedigree, but I puzzle over places like Hawaai with their pokeballs and to a lesser degree Canada. I can't see saffrole being easy to ship into the former, and perhaps Canadians have a saffrole alternative. Whatever, decent pills seem to be in more or less constant supply in these countries and in places like Oz the drought rolls on.

First I`d like to say a big hello to the whole PILLREPORTS Community, Ive been an avid follower for numerous years but never made a report.
After two years unable to find any clean beans, just the usual PIP rubbish (which i refuse to buy), I was compelled to report on why there has been a shortage...
Yes Sassy is in short supply, but the majority of MDMA made is made from a synthesised version od mdp2p, called PMK, in the last few years since the 08 Olympics, the Chinese authorities have clamped down massively on Exporting PMK, this is the MAIN precursor used in MDMA production.... Im sorry to say this is a FACT...
However, after a while im sure they will start to relax again and them CRAZY (lovable) DUTCH will soon be churning the HONEY out in mass again....
And for that, fellow PILLREPORTERS.... I CANT BLOOMING WAIT!!
Brilliant reports on here, and great Moderating from BearLove and Ravenous etc etc.
Guys please keep up the good work and fingers crossed some Loved Up Raver will lace my palms with some beautiful beans in the near future!

Hmmm... far from being a FACT - have a look at this Erowid page detailing the many different ways you can produce p2p which - as they go on to describe:

I've just posted a sodding fact - there are many ways to produce mdp2p (with numerous detailed descriptions of how to make it! - none of which involve you contacting some bloke in China!...) and you tell me that with your "months of reading up" I should "shit a porcupine?!"
I can see where this is going... let's just agree to disagree.
Btw/ No, I've never voted in my life - I only wish Guy Fawkes had succeeded in doing what he set out to do.
