I figured this was the correct place to put this but if it belongs in ADD or somewhere else, you have my apologies Mr. or Ms. Mod.

I had a very powerful experience recently on Buprenorphine. To make it short, I went to a concert and as I was nodding out my brain started overflowing with what imaginings; images, story elements, character concepts, story ideas, and visions. It was fantastic, these where very simliar to how my brain normally shoots things I am later going to try too write at me, if slightly more dreamy and much more rapid. I've had this experience before on Opioids but nothing this amazing. These are what I call Pipe Dreams. I believe that to be the correct term.

I am very pleased as these experiences are not only helpful to me, but they are very pleasurable as well and it appears that, for me a at any rate, Buprenorphine (which I've only recently been introduced to) is more prone to giving me these types of experiences then any other Opioid. :)

From what little I know about it, the term originally came about from Opium smokers. When they smoked the Opium out of their pipes it would make them nod so hard that they would essentially experience dreams while still awake. Most Opiates and Opioids have very similar pharmacological profiles and operate very similarly in the brain and body, thus many people still experience Pipe Dreams when taking a sufficient dose of an Opiating substance to make themselves nod. They have been described as waking dreams/visions and vivid hallucinations. One fellow Bluelighter described his experiences to me as Heroin Ghosts. He said that when he first started abusing Heroin he would nod off a lot of the time and would be surprised when he opened his eyes again and saw people walking through his house.

Please if you know any more detailed information about any aspect of this; how/why it works, how it differs from drug to drug, if eventually, even without a tolerance or being addicted, they will begin to cease, etc. Have you experienced these or anything like it yourself? Do you like them, hate them, find them annoying?

tl;dr Pipe Dreams/Opiate Hallucinations/Opioid Visions or Dreams. What gives? You like?

I know I do!

From my experience, those are very dangerous. Every time its happened to me I would suddenly wake up not really knowing what the fuck happened except I would remember talking to my friends (who weren't there). These dream like states go far beyond a nod for me and seemed to last hours ( hard to say).

I always equated these happenings to an overdose, possibly near fatal ones. Everytime we had to call 911 for an overdose our friend would wake up describing these same experiences.

I would say I enjoyed them in the fact that I was sedated as one can be without dying it seemed. That being said, shooting for that experience every time seems extremely unsafe.

I'm also surprised that you experienced this on bupe, I've never been able to achieve anything resembling a nod on bupe.

That's what the other person said. I'm very pleased with it. I really enjoy Bupe it's self and these experiences make it twice as awesome for me.

I'm very sorry too hear how negative they have been for you and your friends though. I've experienced them a couple of times before this but always on safe doses. The first one I can recall was on either 40 mgs of oxy or two insufflated Roxys. I cannot recall. That was a long time ago and I forgot most of it almost immediately. :( It was something about a knight in full armor wanting to save a ballerina on the opposite side of this table chess board in a park that they where both essentially pieces to. Alas.

This most recent one was with around 4 mgs of Subutex. Not all at once. And I've always needed more drugs then any one I know to get too the same places as them. There are various reasons for this but I don't want to go into them here and derail the thread before it's gotten a proper start.

you aren;t alone, bupre is my second favorite opiate (After heroin), but i never really experience CEV's from them. if i do, they are really vague and are not clear, unlike MXE or DXM CEV's which are clear as day!!

opium is known to be dreamy, so i dont doubt you getting CEVs from bupre as it is a semi-synthetic opiate made from thebaine. it sounds to me like you dont have much of an opiate tolerance, and i bet your CEVs will stop with daily use. t

the opiate that gave me the most CEVs was kratom though, that is really one of the opiates to give me CEVS

I would hope that MXE and DXM give you powerful visuals! And I hear that Kratom is known for that, but I was only able to find a single trip report about the Kratom specific "Waking Dreams" . How are they? Did you ever get that sort of thing with other Opios? Are they comparable or similar in any way?

I've got a higher inate tolerance in general to a vast array of chemicals it seems but whenever I do Bupe is stick it right at 2 mgs up the nose. It is just as awesome each time! But despite my "regular tolerance" I try not to use daily. I also would suspect incidences of Pipe Dreams to decrease as tolerance increases.

I have heard some people say that, with MDMA or DXM specifically (but I have heard it about most popular drugs at one point or another), over their lifetime of using said drug they slowly "lost the magic" and whatever their DOC was it slowly stopped providing them with that special something that they came to it for. That's the sort of thing I was really worried about.
