So I have a pimple (or bug bite, or something) coming up under my recently gotten tattoo, and I was wondering how exactly I should deal with it. There's no head (at this point in time), but if one does surface, I don't know what it will do to the tattoo. I don't want to try to pop it and risk fucking up the artwork, but I also hate leaving it there (I'm a skin picker) lol.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you really need to, cover it with a plaster to stop your picking habits. I'm the same, if I have a cut or anything similar I have an uncontrollable urge to pick it.. If you think a plaster won't work, try covering it with some kind of exfoliating scrub (I think that's what you call it), in the hope that it will prevent it from surfacing.

how new is the tat?

i doubt it will be altered unless it is only hours old, and even then it won't be affected much imo.

Leave it be and take care of the tattoo as you normally would.

Don't pick it.

How old is the tattoo? If it's less than 3 days old you should be keeping it clean and as dry as possible using fragrance free dial soap. But yeah, should be fine I'd gather.

I've had it a few weeks...

should I lubriderm it?

I idid that the first week I had it, but that was it...

Do I need to continue using it past the first week?

Buy a bunch of organic parsley. Steam it for 5 minutes. Take a cloth that has also been put in hot water. Place the steamed parsley in the cloth, then put the cloth on the skin as hot as you can stand it and leave for 15 minutes. Do this twice a day.

The bump will be gone in a couple of days. Parsley poultices fix most skin infections which is what this sounds like.

My husband seemed to have this reaction after getting some work done recently. It looked like a boil sort of thing. It cleared up a few days later, he made me try to pop one at one point which didn't really work, thankfully there is no damage to his tattoo but yeah, just leave it be it should go away. If you have any real concerns I would just give the doc a call as you don't want a nasty infection occurring. I ended up dabbing my husbands with some tea tree oil (sorry if this has already been mentioned) and i think that helped a lot.
