Pills stuck in throat??

Hey I woulda searched but....
Anyone know if there is anything to fear from pills getting stuck in your throat and not going all the way down??
On NYE it felt as if my second half of an HQ got stuck. It freaked me out a bit, and I was franticly massaging my throat (as you do a dog!). Later I figured that it must of just scratched it (hard fuckers those HQ's), but what would happen if it did get stuck?
Any info would be appreciated!

I seriously doubt a pill could get lodged in your thoat

Unless it was some nasty ass shit and it burnt through your little throat lining. Pretty unlikely tho
 
when taking any tablets make sure you have enough water, im a little paranoid of the 'they're only half way down' feeling, so i drink a lot of water to make sure that doesnt happen. id assume if it got stufk you'd choke or cough it up.

I sometimes get this weird fear that the pill has gone down my trachea rather than my oesophagus. I cant explain it but if it did it would get absorbed quickly, hehe
 
I don't mean stuck like choking stuck, more like lodged in the soft fleashy tissue!!
The burning through thing is my main worry, that or it getting dislodged later when I'm not really in the right situation for a e!! Say like dinner with mum and dad the next night!!
Now that would be scary!
 
I know it tastes disgusting, but if you're really worried it might get stuck, chew the lil' fucker till its broken into hundreds of pieces and wash it all down with lots of water.
 
It can be a difficult situation when you have a really strongly MDMA flavoured pill (you know the ones... bitter as anything), and chew it up in your mouth, only to realise you're out of water... the chemical fumes that fill your mouth, nose and throat are really quite nasty, and make it difficult to breathe, your eyes water but your mouth goes dry. Definitely keep the water handy, because after you've chomped the pill, you will need it.

i can't see what ur going on about.. bikkies are usually quite a small pill when compared with things like panadol and cold and flu tablets.. And panadol is close to th worst tasting stuff i have ever had (ever chewed one).. anyway, try practising with panadol!! ;o) ...
Or you an always chew em up into a powered.. now thats not fun.... but it works... and they hit all the harder!!

I lived with a dental nurse for 6 mths, she said chewing bickys is really bad for your teeth, esp. if it stays in contact longer than say 5-10 seconds. So chew by all means but swallow reasonably quickly.
For putting things down tho, and this goes for anything including medicine, cough tablets etc, of sorta putting it at the back of your mouth then kinda gulping and swallowing in the one motion. Looks pretty funny but I can get almost anything down with no water!
By the way has anyone found if they drop with just a tiny swig of water (or maybe none at all) it takes ages to come on? I find if i give my stomach plenty of fluid and hardly any solids to digest, it comes on quick. Eg once a bicky wasn't working almost a full hour after i'd popped it down, so i swigged down a 600ml water and wham 5 mins later it was all on. Would this be because the pill was sitting in a mainly dry & empty stomach, and just after i'd given my stomach some water to digest that started the ball rolling? Or is it the placebo effect (if you think it's working, suddenly.. it is)
 
personally i've never had the problem of anything getting stuck. I now refuse to chew or suck on pills, as even the smell of a baggie that's held good MDMA makes my mouth water (in the not good way...

) and my stomach churn...so i just drink a large glass of water with it.
I agree with the bread theory...my nana told me that...
But for you who pill at raves, how would you explain to security a sandwich bag containing a slice of multigrain???

Luko you are right, MDMA corrodes your teeth. You could say mebbe doing it once a month is fine, your choice.
Parachute it, that's what i normally do.
Crush it up, twist it up in a tissue paper, cut up the unwanted end of the tissue and swallow the rest with water.
You don't taste it and it hits faster and harder BUT shorter.
 
I got a bit of a motorola stuck in my throat... on my birthday.
I was dissolving pretty quick... I could feel it there... slight burning sensation and a lump... not too bad that. But the taste of the chemicals running down my throat... I lasted about 4 minutes, then I HAD to throw up. I just had to get it out of there. No amount of water was washing it down, so I had no choice.

Now I make sure I swallow any small piece of pill (1/4 or less) with plenty gulps of water.
