Pill Testing - do people take action?

I was just reading through the thread about PMA in blue barrels, and the posting by HQ_ETA raised a question for me (excellent report by the way :) ). Do people take action when they get bad test results? To quote HQ_ETA:
I decided to eat it based on the last test. Maybe not a good call but shit it is hard when you have payed up etc...
In all the "harm reduction" discussions, the words "test test test" are thown about, however what's the point of testing if this attitude is taken? Do people tend to follow the old belief of "it won't happen to me..."? I havn't been in the situation of having had a bad test result, so I havn't had to make this decision myself. But has anyone actually not dropped a pill because of bad testing result?

If I bought a single, I'd have a whinge to my dealer. If I bought a 10 pack they'd be getting them back and I'd be asking for a swap or refund or they wouldn't be seeing me again.
I know this sounds dodgy, but try and keep in contact with more than one dealer. You don't have to buy off more than one, just know where more are. This really should be a buyers market and if we all stop accepting shit people higher up the chain are less likely to try to pass it on to us.
Leave the crap pills for those who refuse to do research or test their pills.

There's very little chance of me getting a dodgy pill these days, but on the off chance that it did happen I'd have no hesitation in calling the dealer, telling him he's a moron, then throwing out the pill...
I've also seen a couple of dud test results (ie no reaction) and told my (ex)friend's not to take the pill, telling them that the blank reaction could mean the pill contains plain chalk, or something which could kill them, then a few hours later in the night they come up to me and ask if I know where they can get something else, 'cos that dodgy pill did nothing... Morons...

That's why you should test *before* you buy... if your dealer won't let you test prior to giving up your hard earned, then tell 'em to take a hike. If they're selling decent product then they should have no reason to fear the tester.
If it's impractical to test before purchase, then you may have to face the prospect that when you get a bad test result you've done your dough. If the result doesn't come up purple/black then flush the pill and go to a new dealer next time.
I suppose you could always test and then try to get your money back by handing back the pill, but that means there's a chance of someone else eating that shit pill... better off throwing it out.
Here's a thread from way back in May 2000 -- Why do you test your pills?

A word of warning - be careful that you don't get that ezy test stuff on your clothes - that shit burns! I've ruined a perfectly good top, one of my favourites. Now I demoted that top to my "weed shirt" :)

That's because marquis reagent is 90% concentrated sulphuric acid, and 10% formaldehyde which also happens to be a known carcinogenic.
Be careful with this shit!
