a red simons's reaction? are you sure it was not robadope's reagent? robadope is supposed to go red when in contact with a primary amine such as mda. simon's always goes blue with primary amines.

POSITIVE

I DID THE TEST 2 TIMES AND BOTH TIMES IT FIRST TURNED BLUE A ROYAL BLUE THEN I ADDED THE BUFFER AND THEN IT TURNED A LIGHT RED

Not much i can say, aside from anecdotally speaking, MDMA usually goes a very dark blue-black with marquis reagent when i've tested it. Is that what you mean by 'royal' blue?

Anyway, my only really useful contribution can be THIS (click on me)
Maybe try and correlate your reactions?

1st: with the MARQUIS it turned purple/ black.
2nd: when i added the simons it turned a royal blue
when i added the buffer it turned a light red
3rd: on another scraping i tested with the ropadope and it was a very light red(a light tint of red after i applied the buffer

Are you saying that you added the Simon's reagent to the already tested pill, complete with Marquis reagent? If so, that might help to explain your problem.

The Simon's reagent test is still a separate test, requiring a separate scraping. :)

My answer is : not sure.

The fact that simon's turned blue is very much shows the presense of the secondary amine. That coupled with your marquis reaction you can be almost certain you have MDMA.

The fact that it turned blue without the buffer being added would mean there is a another chemical present that is taking the place of the buffer, which is making simon's react straight away. This is not a common reaction but it can happen. I have seen it happen with methamphetamine pills rather than MDMA pills, and I have always assumed there is a chem that is present that is a bye product of a poor synth.

What can we say about this pill then?

Well, it certaintly contains MDMA, but it also contains some other substance. What that substance (or substances? considering the buffer caused a reaction as well) is I'm not sure. It certainly contains more than straight MDMA + normal binder + normal filler.

My advice: If you are uncertain about a pill, then don't consumed it.
