if a pill contained two different substences, lets say mdma and pma, what would show up in the test? would only the predominant substence show? or would it be a mixture of both? so some of it would be brown whilst other bits would be darkpurple/black. the kit i have tests for both (mdma showing darkpurple/black, pma showing brown).

I don't use and hence don't test much anymore, but i think it's pretty fair to say that other reactions are generally masked by a darker one.

Multi reagent kits are the way to go.

To test for the presence of PMA and MDMA with a single reagent (Mandelin) is difficult as the darker colour will usually dominate. An amine kit is an advantage, but if your mixture is either PMMA and MDMA, or MDA and PMA, then even this will won't help.
