Hey guys, first time posting in the psychedelic section on BL. I'm usually lingering over in the Other Drugs forum haha.
All right here's my quick story:
One of my favorite things about psychedelics is how different the experience is on various hallucinogens (I'm sure everyone agrees). I love the overwhelming, completely out of reality state that DMT puts you in; the intense geometric patterns of LSD; the color inversions that occur more often with psilocybin than any other compound. And the state of mind associated with the compound, whether it's just pure love, empathy, energy, or something else.
So this is my question.
I understand PiHKAL is part biography/part synthesis (basically organic chemistry) of the phenethylamine compounds. But is there a thorough explanation as to the certain effects that these compounds have? Both in a spiritual (thought process) and the "physical" (the visions, the type of high that accompanies, etc). That's what I'm mainly trying to gain from reading the book. I know there's something written about each drug's effect, but is it in depth (the more in depth, the better). I just dont wanna buy a book expecting one thing and getting another (I'm gonna have to order this book online, so I can't browse through it at a book store...if they'd even carry it)
