woohooo!!! the piercing bug has bitten
juz lookin' at the prices that u guyz have mentioned... *yikes* $80 for a belly button!!!
There's a place in Dandenong not far away from the train station called TATTOO CITY and their prices go a lil summin like this
Tongue - $50
Eyebrow, nose, navel & nipple - $30
Genitals - ??? but i'm guessin' that it'd be 50 +
The prices include the piercing AND the jewelry (u get to choose wat kinna ring/bolt u want and wat balls go in wif 'em), and there's none of that crappy 5 dollars more coz of GST blah blah blah...
I've had all my piercings done there (juz recently got my nipple done ... and it DIDN'T hurt!!! felt more like a mini orgasm *giggles*) they're clean, they do all the things that should be done before and after they pierce... and i'm sure that if u ask that they would give u a group discount coz they're pretty nice guyz!
N e way... to all the ppl that do get things pierced... have fun!!! Remember to freak each other out when ur doin' it (SCREEEEAAAM ur lungs out when ur getting it done *giggles*) and take care of ur piercing like it's ur own lil baby

OK Komplex, i'm going to do my utmost to talk you out of it (I'm not a piercing kinda guy.)
Ok, firstly, Ive never seen an attractive prince albert. (or should I say an attractive penis attached to a prince albert)
They look funny, and you will have a hole in your PENIS!!!!
Also, you know how when you have really itchy nads, and you NEED to itch them but you're in public? Well, what about if you're P/A is caught on a bit of cotton in your pants, and you're in excruciating pain but cant do anything because you know people with see you playing with it!.
And what about swimming? Do you plan on doing that again? I mean, unless you have a big, good looking penis (hey, you may!) then its gonna look strange.
On the flip side, I hear the women like it, and if thats your kind of thing, then all power to ya bro. I'm just giving you my view.
And if you got it, you'd be obliged to show me

i dont know abt prices for piercings, that was abt 1 yr ago when my fren went to him to get her navel pierced. but i did always think that belly button piercing was approx. 100bux. maybe thats city prices... or maybe those were prices 1 yr ago... inflation? dunno? hehehe
im way overdue for my next tatt session... my family of dragons on my back is only halfway done.

I think Way Cool (around the corner in Dandenong) are heaps heaps better and a lot friendlier

Xtine22: I've also been contemplating a genital piercing and a few of my friends have them and are thrilled with them. Although you apparently have to get used to being turned on a lot of the time…
Komplex: Go for it!!! And it shouldn't spray unless you have large gauge ring in the PA (ya don't want to go any bigger than 12 gauge to start with)
As for prices…remember that you pay for what you get. The actual cost of the piercing doesn't seem to vary much around the city but what varies is the cost of the jewellery. You want to be sure that you are getting good quality jewellery and that it is properly autoclaved. If you will be taking the jewellery out on a regular basis (or changing it) you should consider how the balls are threaded onto the post. There are two kinds: (1) the ball has a little hollow bit where it screws onto the post (I think that these are called internally threaded) versus (2) the ball has a threaded bit attached to it and the post is hollowed out (externally threaded, I think). If you are like me and like to change jewellery…go with #1 cuz they do less damage to your skin if you're changing things.
From my experience so far in Australia, the standard here seems to be #2 because the jewellery is cheaper to manufacture and with the Aussie $ currently in the toilet, importing jewellery from overseas is expensive. One place in Melbourne that has #1 is Piercing Urge on Commercial in Prahan. They do tend to be a bit more expensive than some of the other places around town but they have a student discount (I think the 2-for-1 deal that someone mentioned is over with, though) and they have a really good set up. Finally, a good piercer should supply you with detailed after care instructions and an after-care kit for free. If they try to charge you for that info, it's probably not a good place to get the piercing done.

As I sit here at work about to cry my eyes out due to PAIN I am strongly thinking my idea to get my nipple pierced was a bad one.
Didn't hurt the first 24 hours, I think its trying to make up for it now!!
Mind you I am not taking it out.. been hurting for 6 hours now..may as well leave it there!
 
OK I took it out. I have never experienced so much pain. I've came to the conclusion today that if we were supposed to have piercings and Tattoos we would be born with them. I think this was supposed to happen to me to get over my fixation with piercing/tattoos. Thats it.. never again for me.
 
Awww, Xtine22 - too bad that it was driving ya crazy. BTW, the discomfort afterwards is usually a sign that the piercing is starting to heal (especially if it's itchy too).
I went with a friend this weekend who got an industrial done...that's the long bar that goes twice through the cartilage at the top of your ear. It looks AMAZING!!! But he said that it really really hurt.

that's a bummer. and strange it didn't hurt for the first 24hrs. as soon as the needle went through i was clenching my teeth in agony, and it took nearly 6 months to heal (which isn't normal i shouldn't say) but by far and away it was worth it.
and i think it hurts girls more because we generally have more sensitive nipples. if mine was sensitive before it's unbelievably hypersensitive now

nipple-tip 1.01: girls, i'd strongly suggest wearing a bra after you get it done. you may think it'd hurt more, but it actually stops the ring from moving around, and from your shirt banging against it. (believe me, when you're in that much pain, a tshirt feels like a sledgehammer)

Well, I had my navel pierced after yaki last year. I was kinda bored and had nothing better to do. I walked to the nearest piercing shop near my place and just said I wanted my navel pierced ..... DAMN!! I did not regret the somewhat rash decision. It still look pretty good. The only thing about it is that I have to constantly take care of it and clean it at least twice a day. Oh well ..... !!

There's a good place on Johnson street near the corner of smith street but I think it has moved up the road a bit. Aside from that go to chapel tattoo they are pretty professional. Anyone up for having something done soon; either my centre lip or septum of my nose I want to have done...b4 Astral perhaps.
