just as there can be many sides to a story, it is the same for the layering of personalities that people see in us
its interesting and somewhat frustrating when you see yourself as being "a", "b" and "c", but those around you never realize the "c" or assume that there is some "d" floating around in there....
and its one of those cases where you really cannot announce to someone "hey, this isnt me that you perceive, you're missing this crucial point that makes all of it so special" because then it just wouldnt be the same..no one would have noticed it, they would just be acknowledging something you had them focus on, like if you were gazing at the sky, and pointed out the shape of an animal in the clouds, and they say "yeah, i kinda see that, that could be this, and i understand how you might see that" but they dont really see it
not the way you do, no matter how they try--IF they try....

When I was about 8, my family and I were eating breakfast in my diningroom. I looked outside, and saw a hummingbird feeding in a bush near the window. I'd never seen a hummingbird before, and I thought it was amazing. It was so beautiful, and colorful. The way it moved was absolutely fascinating. I wasn't the smartest kid, and didn't actually know what a hummingbird was, so all I could do was stare at it, and point, and say "Look mom! Look at that!"... as she turned around to look at it, it flew away, and she didn't see what I'd seen.
Much like my hummingbird, the most beautiful, wonderful aspects of people are the ones which only show themselves in glimpses... small short bursts of perfection. These are the things that I think make a person who they are to themself. When they find the person who sees them consistantly, they've found a piece of their spirit.

i think i got what u mean (as im not with it at the mo.) but through my wierd perception right now, i think what you wrote is beautiful, and always thought i was the only one who thought that way.
i could be talking about a totally different subject here...but anyways...it put a smile on my face...or was that the bird story..i don't know im just smiling
ok ill shut up now

The fact that some people don't see everything that is special about you, Brooke, is what keeps the special things...well...special!
Some of us are lucky enough to catch a glimpse, a flash of your wonderfulness, or a veritable peepshow of your Syrup of Wahoo! (If you've read Tom Robbins that may make more sense...) by simply meeting you and spending a little time with you.
The rest who can't see that, or refuse to look deeper into you, well let their ignorance be THEIR bliss, and allow the ones who do *see* you, let YOU be THEIR bliss.

E-bow, lucky enough to see a few of the pieces, and bets there are infinitely more that he would like to see
