I live in Norcal as well. Umm..it's VERY hot this time of year but in the fall you might find cyanscens or cubensis..liberty caps as well.
What city are u from? I'm from Grass Valley

The time to look is fall, when things start to moisten up a bit, untill then, learn about IDing them at the www.shroomery.org i wouldn't try unless you knew someone that could show you what to pick . ..
