Physical exercise on psychedelics and their vascular actions

Hi,

I have noticed that long aerobic exercise during come-up takes away some bodyload etc, but is it healthy? I have actually thought about making weekly swimming "trips" so this is question is a personally urgent matter ;)

If serotonergic psychedelics are vasoconstrictors, could exercise lead to heart damage due to cardiac muscle hypoxia-induced hypertrophy?
I'm not even aware can psychedelics (or like James Callaway says, entheodelics) cause cardial vasoconstriction.
They certainly cause cerebral vasoconstriction since triptans can prevent migraine, and at least ergotism can lead to peripheral gangrene due to extreme vasoconstriction.
I haven't found any good articles related to vascular effects of psychedelics, especially related to the heart. I also don't know could faster cardiac rhythm counter the effect of vasoconstriction or even actually increase its own circulation via higher circulation speed and BP.
My fellow travellers, could you please enlighten me on these matters?
 
ive lifted weights and exercised on acid.
felt amazing. no bad effects.
then again EVERYONE and everyones bodies and internal organs are different/work differently.

what could be a mild workout for me could induce a heart attack in an old time hippy type.
 
It's probably fine.

People exercise on amphetamines without trouble (if they don't overdo it).

I think the kind of heart damage you speak of would come from long term use of vasoconstrictors. Sporadic use of psychedelics and exercising while on them is unlikely to cause any problems.
 
gone for crazy long and hard bike rides on acid a bunch of times, seems to make the trip more enjoyable/intense. I've never felt any adverse effects but i am in excellent physical shape.
 
i used to love going for intense jogs/runs while coming down from DOI. always the morning after, after dosing the previous night in the evening. not sure i could handle it on the come up though... my body always felt a lot better after the peak of DOI.
 
Im into MMA and have shadowboxed on acid. I found it really really fun. I actually reckon that for exercise that requires a lot of focus/concentration not just plain exercise like weights or running, if you are passionate about that sport and are experienced in it, the in the moment intense focus of LSD can anhance your abilities. Man it was awesome felt like some sort of Zen martial artist lol just really driven and intense.
 
as for the physical effectss, who knows i'm not a doctor :P. Although again froma psychological point of view if you are intensely focused then you may even be able to push past normal physical limitations, limitations that are actually mental in nature.
 
Well, i've done a lot of meditation on LSD and i also jogged a couple of times, and since one is so connected mind/body/soul wise, any movement is actually very enjoyable and it also has deeper meanings. I assume that anything excessive is not recommended
