just something that struck me as funny...over on a poppies.org board, advice was given to lick,chew on, and even smoke a duragesic patche..and this was a 100mcg (incorrect weight?) one....

Yes, and some people there talk about how great it is to inject OxyContin...
It's simple - there is a large amount of fentanyl in one of those patches, and if you consume it, YOU CAN GET DEAD!
Now even though Jannsen says a good amount of drug is left in the patch after a full 72-hours, for some reason I never caught a buzz even after eating the ENTIRE contents of a 10mg patch after I had it on for about 3 days... I also had a friend that disolved a fresh patch in a fair amount of water - he said he had to drink a lot to get any type of buzz... but I also had a friend eat half the gel in a 5mg patch - he went to the hospital for a cold shot of Narcan...
You might be able to get away with eating a little of the gel in a new patch, but I must advise against this BECAUSE DEAD IT KILL MIGHT YOU BE!
A funny story about a stupid old person ... I was working as a pharmacy tech at about 3am, we got a call from the local Emergency Room who wanted to confirm what medications one of our customers was on - she had just had a new script filled today - Duragesic 7.5mg (and some other drool-drool-boner goodies) ... the pharmacist talked to the doctor for a few minutes then hung up... this dumb bitch had some chronic pain condition, and was just moved to Duragesic.. anyway, she thought you put a patch on wherever you had pain, as you would use a local anesthetic.. she was brought into the ER with a total of 7 patches on.. amazingly the idiot whorebag lived and came to the pharmacy every week or so for scripts that you would kill your own mother for... (it's people like THIS that I can steal pharmacuticals from and NOT feel bad!)
