hi
can you please help me and my friend with this. we have had a major discussion bout hepatit C. is it possible to sterilise a set of "tools" by boiling it or will the hepatite still be there after boiling.. if not. how long would it take to get strerilised.
thanks

I don't know about hepititus C but to be safe I never shoot with a needle thats been used before. I get a new one from a chemist each time.
I also use an alcohol swab if thats any help.

Pins are so cheap why would anyone reuse them? Order them on the net in boxes of 100 and keep them on hand. 25g 100 for $20 or 27g 100 for $32. Don't risk your health.

Good old UK. just walk in and say "2 syringe + needles please" and there u go. Some times the chemist leers at you when she gives it to u. Just say ur diabetic or summit.

You cant sterilize rigs with boiling water.
According to the Center for Disease Control: Flush the rig out completely 3 times with Clorox or other brand of bleach. This means first you pull the plunger out and dip it down into the clorox. Now you dip all of the needle and a little of the plastic all the down into the bleach and draw until the entire rig is filled. Now expell. Do that 3X and then do it three times with water to clean out the clorox. Your rig is now clean.
This kills Hep, HIV, everything save a few tropicals bugs that you dont have to worry about.
Needle exchange programs often give out needle cleaning kits. All they are is a small bottle of clorox and a small bottle of clean water.
Just a note: The Center for Disease Control has a 24 hour hotline. It's a 1-800 number. They are more than pleased to asnwer questions regarding safe IV use. When I first started shooting I called them often.

You CAN use bleach, alcohol, or other such chemicals to "clean" the syringe - is it 100% GARE-ON-TEED safe? No, of course not, but it's better then nothing .. personally, if the only thing available was a used syringe, I would smoke or snort the drug before I would use someone else rigs (even a "cleaned syringe") .. I have shto up a little over 2,000 times, and NEVER did I used a syringe that was used by someone else.. even when I was a meth addict who had pawned most of my shit for drugs, I was always willing to find $2.47 for a pack of 10 syringes..
I have no pitty for those that get some disease from sharing works, because there is no excuse...
But if you feel you MUST, then start by drawing up bleach - fill it all the way... spray it out.. repeat this about 3 times, then use warm water another 3 or 4 times.. I would even go further and do everything over once or twice..

thanks,,
i don't share with anyone, however if someone is desperate i give 'em my old shit.
it'sd hard to get over new tools here

Actually you shouldnt use anything except bleach. Alcohols will do nothing to Hepetitis and HIV. Bleach effectively "kills" those bugs and most others.

I;m the same way. I wouldnt be able to sleep knowing that I shot up using someone else's needles. IMO, if you find yourself using someone's used rigs, you should really take a step back and evaluate your habit. It's not worth it.
I usually buy the box of syringes that hold 100 points. You can get these for right around $20. I dont even like to use the same needle twice. If I have to use an old one, I clean it with bleach. True I cant get HIV from a needle that I used cause I dont have HIV. However other bacterias and shit can grow in my bloody points so I clean'em.

Hep C is easier to catch than HIV, It has a long life-span,if you are using with people that have it or you do then dont even share spoons.
Where I'm from something like 90% of IV uses have Hep C, but i dont know of anyone who has HIV.anyone know what the stats are here in the US?
