I don't know if you're the same
I used to love you
We drove us away
Nothing left to repair and hold together
Except our broken hearts
I can't succumb to that temptation
To crawl back one more time
Those final strains of love
Just like those of music
I can almost hear them
See them, feel them
That last remembered touch
Of your warm skin
Must be enshrined and cherished
And for my sanity, destroyed
It's final this time I say
In my heart I wish it wasn't true
To wake up beside you in a dream
Would be worth more than eternity
Yet there's nothing left there
The burned ashes of my heart
Rest on a pillar of my determination
Never to walk down your road again
I want to love you like we used to
To cure my pain
Yet I can't give away my truth
And embrace that fiction
Hard won that truth
Costly to my soul
Yet in it rests that immortal pearl
Of precious wisdom
Yet I love you still
Love you yet leave you
Is what I must do
I can't give you one more kiss
Hardening my heart
Throw away my life
Burn my love
I must be stronger than I know
A blink and a start
This love will never be reborn
A constant cycle of love and rejection
Has only one end, and that is mine
Though if my heart is dead
What more is there to live for?
Surely not this cruel reality
Of love and hope

I LOVED this poem!! Im sure thats not what you want to hear in reply to something so sad and from the heart but its true all the same. sometimes you have to leave the ones you love if the love really isnt good for you.... what can I say,be strong luv ant
