Phenobarbitone/Phenobarbital (Whats the big deal?)

I have aquired 3600mg Phenobarbitone.

I hear many people rave on about it on bluelight as if it is the 'holy grail' of all 'benzo type' lovers drugs

I hear so many conflicting reports about safe/lethal doses and if it is/is not recreational etc..

I tried it once over a year ago, probably around 300mgs over the course of a few hours and honestly felt NOTHING.

What are we looking for? Because many people talk of Phenobarbitone/Phenobarbital as if they woul kill for it...

What am i missing? what are the DO's and DONT's?

Okay, so phenobarbital is a long acting barbiturate. It isn't as good compared to shorter acting barbiturates, but a lot of people talk about it because it IS a barbiturate, and they are rather rare. It does have recreation potential, but not as much as other barbiturates. It should feel best during the onset, but its duration of action is quite long so you remain under its influence for a while. If you have anxiety that might be great, but many report just feeling tired after a while. I like barbiturates, but I've only tried phenobarbital and butalbital. They are "different" than benzos. Here is a suggestion for a recreational experience, take a healthy dose (100 to 200 mg) in the morning after you've gotten up and ready. If you don't have tolerance to benzos or alcohol, this will feel quite nice especially the onset, and leave you nice and sedated the whole day and you'll sleep like a baby. Barbiturates have a "set" lethal dose regardless of tolerance, so don't take too much. Don't really mix with anyother drugs, barbiturates are the epitome of true downers.

I have a massive tolerance to benzos so all in all the Phenobarbital are pretty useless to me.

But there isn't a cross-tolerance between benzodiazepines and barbiturates; I, too, have a massive benzo tolerance, but was prescribed Phenobarbital for a while a few years back (still, with a benzo tolerance) and I would achieve exactly the effects described by Alex000:

It is indeed strange that you felt literally nothing after taking it, but all in all, I really didn't find it that attractive. You feel a little blissed out on the come-up, as stated above, but then it's this annoyingly sluggish feeling the rest of the day that you just wish you could get rid of. At least, IME, that is.

What exactly is your benzo tolerance? I believe there is SOME cross-tolerance when it comes to subjective effects. Try a slightly higher dose, then, maybe 300 to 400 mg. Don't drive on barbs, btw, bad idea.
 
Phenobarb is awesome for WD or for anxiety. Not really a fun drug I would say in fact in high doses I find it depressing and very overpowering.

My tolerance is medically impossible so i will not talk about it on here.

quick example tonight - 500mg Diazepam - 30mg Lormetazepam - 600mg Flurazepam.
 
When it's better taken ?
I see one comment which indicate at morning. So it isn't a big hypotic ?
 
It is a hypnotic at higher doses, but if you want to have "a day and night with phenobarb" take it in the morning, it will help you into the night for sleep.
 
I just tried phenobarbital.
I took 75mg at 5PM.
At first I felt only slightly sedated. Compared with benzo I felt more drunk, and a lot less euphoria or peace feeling.
Then the sedation took over and I went to sleep.
I wake up very easily and quickly with quite some energy.

Not as good as the hype would suggest, but it's ok.
