My epileptic dog got hooked the fuck up with some 32.4mg (?) phenobarbital so it goes without saying I have to have some

I have tried them before in the 200mg-300mg dose range and I can honestly say I did not feel shit. I had them with a few beers once and I definitely noticed it but it was hardly euphoric. Most information on the web says that phenobarbital is probably the least recreational substances in its family

Anyone else have experience or suggestions?

(the first part was a joke)

Yeah i've tried it before and was massively disappointed.

I too tried around 300mg.

IMO it is far safer and far more recreational to use Benzos instead of Barbiturates, with Barbs the therapeutic and lethal doseages are way too close for comfort.

Yes, phenobarbital is very disappointing. Not even the slightest increase in wellbeing and very poor anxiolytic effect. It is capable of making you extremely tired and weak though. Just walking around needs much effort. It feels kinda like you suddently gained 3 x your bodyweight and got weights of lead attached to your eyelids and somebody replaced your brain with porridge. This was after 400 mg ingested. The intoxication just felt unpleasant and I decided to sleep it off. I can see it having its uses for e.g. benzo withdrawal but it certainly isn't recreational. It did however potentiate benzos (very risky to mix) but it could have been a placebo effect.

The dosage for general anaesthesia is 600 mg per day if I remember correctly so don't ever dose higher than that.

I took about 15 of them (480mg~) and your description sums up the experience pretty well. More tired now than anything

Yeah this class of medication is not at all safe for recreational use. The dose that may get you high is very close to a dose that can kill you. Avoid further dosing at any dose, as you get either non desired effects, or tread very dangerous waters. That is all. Closed.
